Math Move-Up FAQ’s 1. Do I have to go to Orientation before I start Math Move-Up? You will need to attend New Student Orientation on either June 13, 15 or 20 to participate in Math Move-Up given that the dates/times for July Orientation conflict with required Math Move-Up class times. 2. Do I still need to take a Math Placement Test if I am participating in Math Move-Up? Yes! You qualify for Math Move-Up based on your ACT Math subscore but this does not determine your Placement into a Math course. In addition, if you take the Placement Test and place into Math 111 you will not need to participate in Math Move-Up! 3. What happens if I already registered and paid for Math Move-Up and then I take my placement test and place into Math 111? You can cancel your participation in Math Math-Up by emailing [email protected]. You must cancel your participation by July 7, 2017 in order to receive your $50 deposit back. 4. When I attend Orientation, what Math class do I register for? If you are registered and deposited for the Math 15 Move-Up, a permission number will be provided to you that will allow you to register for Math 111. If are registered and deposited for the Math 10 Move-Up, a permissions number will be provided to that will allow you to register for Math 15. 5. What happens if I don’t complete the Math Move-Up? If you do not complete Math Move-Up (meet attendance requirements and complete the daily assignments) you will not be refunded your $50 deposit and if you have registered for the next sequential Math class at Orientation (see above), that course will be administratively dropped and you will be registered for either Math 10 or Math 15. 6. Where will the Move Up courses be held? You will receive the room location of your class in a reminder email a few days before the start of the course, so watch your email for updates. 7. Do I need a permit to park on campus? Yes. You will be provided a parking permit free of charge on the first day of class. 8. Is on campus housing available? Unfortunately, we are unable to provide housing for Math Move UP participants. 9. What should I bring to the first day of class? Please bring paper and pencil. You can leave your calculator at home as they are not allowed in the course.
