Questions and Answers Seattle United Managers’ Meeting 2017 What managers need to know about registration Some Basics • Membership – USYSA (through WYS and SYSA) – US Club (as needed for participation in USClub events) • Contact for registration matters: – Seattle United & SYSA– Paige Blomsø [email protected] • USYSA Seasonal Year – annually, from registration • US Club Seasonal Year – August 1 – July 31 Player Requirements to Practice/Play • • • • • . Current year registration (2017/18) Birth certificate & player photo upload Payment in full or payment plan in place Medical release – hardcopy to manager/coach For summer tournament guests from outside WYS , there is the $25.00 insurance registration. Provide full name and birth date to Paige to confirm prior to submitting tournament roster requests. Completing Current Year Registration • If a player is on the roster, registration is complete and they are able to practice & play. • If not on roster, they are not to play until cleared by registrar, and added to the roster. • Note on family privacy: Financial matters are between the club and each family. Team volunteers will be informed only as required. Coach/Manager Registration –All Coaches/Managers – must register in Affinity. –National Background Check Required – through Affinity and backgroundchecks.com (& included in the coach/volunteer registration). –Not rostered to team until registered per USYSA. WYS/USSF sanctioned Tournaments – – – – Check WYS soccer website for sanction. http://www.washingtonyouthsoccer.org/ 2017/18 registration required. Rosters need to be signed • Review tournament rules to see what is required. • Create tournament roster request in Affinity. • Rosters requests due the Tuesday prior to the tournament (in state). • Roster requests due two weeks prior to the Monday of tournament week (out of state travel). – Player cards (usually) not necessary in-state. – Out of state – Paige files intent to travel form. Notify her as soon as you have a chance of your team’s summer travel plans. US Club Tournaments • US Club tournaments that are not WYS sanctioned and/or do not have joint sanctioning (out of state). – see http://www.washingtonyouthsoccer.org/ – Tournaments tab for the list of sanctioned tournaments. – Confirm that individual tournament did not purchase ‘tournament-wide insurance’ – Get a US Club login from SU Registrar – Cards required ($18 each) for each player and coach – Import players as .csv file – Release required from previous team – Import/upload birth certs and photos for card. League Play • Premier teams play in WYS’ ‘RCL’ or Regional Club League’ • Select (Regional) teams play in the NPSL (North Puget Sound League). • Club pays all league fees. League Registration • Club registrar will register/submit all teams for RCL league registration. • Club registrar will register/submit all teams for the NPSL as well. • NPSL league registration information will be emailed by June 19. Please submit questions to coach and reply to Paige by June 30. • SYSA registrars review, submit, and provide follow-up for all NPSL registration. The WYS Player and Coaches Membership Pass • The WYS membership pass, formally know as the player card, denotes that you are a member of the largest youth sporting organization in the United States. The "Pass" entitles you to participate in sanctioned WYS and US Youth Soccer Leagues, State Cups and Summer Tournaments. • As an adult team staff member, the "Pass" indicates that you have passed the WYS Risk Management Acceptance Program. The "Pass" will provide proof that all of your players are properly registered and are age appropriate. You may obtain a membership pass from your association registrar. • To be valid, a membership pass/player card must have a current photo of the player and be laminated. Membership pass/player cards are valid from the time of receipt through the following July, and will be used for participation in league play, state cup and summer tournaments (as required). Player Cards • Prior year cards used until receipt of 2017/18 cards – get them from previous team – Not team specific for summer tournaments • SYSA will distribute 2017/18 cards to team managers by mid-July. • Update all player photos now (in June). – Team specific for league play – But Player Pass allowed in RCL & NPLS play. How to Prepare Player Passes • Verify that all information on the pass is correct Legal names must be used . • Laminate card- *REQUIRED • Attach all the passes, both coaches and players, on an "O" ring so they can be kept together and handled easily by the referee. • Do NOT photo copy or create a duplicate set. State Cups • Different deadlines based on gender, age and which cup. • Seattle United will pay the fee for all Premier teams, select teams will pay their own fee. • Registrar will register all teams for state Cups. • Club will pay WYS for all teams. • Select teams will be invoiced by Seattle United. Seattle United Team Naming Convention • Regional Team Naming Convention 1. Region: South, West, NE, Shoreline 2. Gender: B or G 3. Birth Year (last two digits of year): 00, 07, 99, etc 4. Color level: Blue, White, etc – E.g.: South G00 Blue, West B04 White, etc Seattle United Team Naming Convention • Premier Teams 1. Gender: B or G 2. Birth Year (last two digits only): 98, 02, 07, etc 3. Level: Copa, Tango, Samba, Nova – E.g.: B98 Copa, G02 Tango, etc. Seattle United 2018 Gala • • • • • February 3, 2018 @ Fremont Studios Mandatory team donation: $150.00. Will be collected in September, 2017. Welcoming new volunteers to our committee.
