YOUTH MISSION APPLICATION “you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 THE MAIN THING: Developing fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. VISION: Young people living as transformed followers of Jesus Christ, passionately committed to loving and serving as part of the Church in the present and the future. STRATEGY: To REACH youth in grades 7 – 12 and their families, to EQUIP them in their walk, and teaching them to be AUTHENTIC in life, ministry and worship, showing them how to LOVE God and others. Being on MISSION is a choice, and it is one we hope you’ll make. This is not another program to attend. Being on MISSION is about making a commitment to serve on behalf of others in order to make disciples of Christ. Being on MISSION is a commitment and the most meaningful commitments are tough to keep, but they are worth the effort because our priorities determine who we are, and who we are becoming. This packet will help you understand the commitment of serving on the First Baptist Youth MISSIONS Team and will provide you with the next steps if you are interested in participating in our 2017 Summer Mission trip. MISSION TRIP DETAILS: Team Effort in Jacksonville, Florida July 20-30, 2017 Depart: Thursday, July 20, 2017 Return: Sunday, July 30, 2017 COST: $400.00 Per Youth (*prior to any fundraising efforts) Deposit Due: January 5th - $50.00 with a payment schedule to follow. 2|Page YOUTH MISSIONS TEAM COVENANT If you want to join the First Baptist Youth MISSIONS Team, you’ll need to indicate your commitment to these statements. We aren’t asking you to be perfect. We all fail and we all have times where we aren’t spending time with God like we should. But are you willing to commit to doing the best you can to live out these statements? We hope you will give 100%. o I am committed to my personal relationship with Christ. (If you are still seeking Him we (Youth Ministry Team) make a commitment to help reveal Christ to you). o I am committed to spiritual growth by actively engaging in spiritual disciplines such as o Consistent devotion time & prayer time o Scripture memorization o Involvement with corporate worship (attending church worship regularly) o Bible Study on Sunday morning and Wednesday o I am committing to actively attend corporate worship (church worship services.) o I am committing to a lifestyle and attitudes that are godly, knowing that my leadership is a model for other students. o I am committing to serving in various ways throughout First Baptist Youth Ministry and attend fundraising activities. o I am committing to attend from this date forward, to at least 60% of FBC Youth activities including Sunday AM Small Group, Corporate Worship, Wednesday Unashamed Service, and any mission activities or Bible studies. o I am committing to attend Youth Ministry meetings regarding 2017 Mission trip. o I understand that during the mission trip I may be asked to perform a different task than I was prepared to do. I will not complain about changes to the schedule. o I am committing to have a Christ like attitude on the trip, listen to team leaders, follow all trip rules and do my best to get along with everyone without grumbling and complaining.
