Margaret Minhas has come on board as a Director and we now have Mr. Dean Huston as our new Treasurer. Margaret’s appointment is a one year term while Dean’s is a two year commitment. Each camp runs with the same format: Lots of fun, technical skills, mini-games, contests, and individual and group challenges. All sessions take place at Bateman Park #1 (fenced field) includes Club T shirt 9:30 am - 11:00 am 12:00 noon - 3:00 pm 2011 - 2014 Born Players $50.00 per camp 2002 - 2010 Born Players $75.00 per camp Camp Choices (or sign up for more than one) Camp #1 Camp #4 July 3 – 7 Camp #2 July 24 – 28 Camp #5 July 10 – 14 July 31 - Aug 4 You can register online by clicking HERE Feedback Requested Camp #3 July 17 - 21 Camp #6 Aug 7 – 11 Please click HERE to participate in a VERY brief Survey. Your feedback is important! Fall/Winter Registration Open Fall/Winter Registration is OPEN and will move to a WAITING LIST as of June 30th. All programs are listed under the REGISTRATION tab on our website. Look for 2017-2018 Fall/Winter Program. Given that most teams need to be submitted to local leagues by the end of June, we really do need folks to get players registered well before that time. While it does seem that it’s early, to ensure proper planning for leagues, schedules, field assignments and coaches, these teams need to be in well ahead of the summer break. With that in mind, we are implementing a ‘late fee’ for the 2017.2018 season for all PROSPECTS, SUPER 8s, and DIVISIONAL players. Players in these Programs registering after June 30th will be placed on a waiting list and pay the $25.00 Late Fee to help offset League Fines and Penalties for late registration of teams. The late addition of players and teams causes a ripple effect within our club, league scheduling, and often impacts more than one division of teams. We have been able to absorb these costs in the past but feel that our three month registration period is adequate for interested parties to get themselves registered in time for the Fall season. Registering prior to the end of June also helps us with planning required field space, getting coaches for teams, and ensuring we have an accurate order for jerseys. Players registered prior to the June deadline but not paid up will be removed from the registration system and placed on a waiting list. In short, those folks that have paid up or have made arrangements for paying will have first priority in team placement. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS TOURNAMENT JUNE 10th The ASA is proud to co-host the Annual Special Olympics Soccer Tournament at Bateman Park. This year’s tournament is a one day affair with teams coming from all over the Lower Mainland and the Interior of B.C. Many of our referees volunteer their time for this event and we also ask for our members to give a little of their time to help us out in the Concession as we serve up pizza, coffee, and other treats to the visitors from around the province. If you can help out in the Concession area for a couple of hours, please fire an email to Dan at [email protected] indicating the time slot for which you are interested.
