Plural Verb
Example – The majority of people are traitors.
Rule 3
Noun + Preposition + Same Noun + Singular Verb
Example – Woman after woman has come to see my sister.
Rule 4
Nothing but/Everything but + Uncountable noun/ Singular
Countable Noun/Plural Countable Noun + Singular Verb
Example –
Nothing but tree was there.
Nothing but trees was there.
Nothing but sand was there.
Everything but pens was there.
