WET WEATHER
Wet Weather decisions for weekends are generally not made until Friday. Councils
and schools assess their grounds and advise NSFA which grounds are unfit for
play. Sometimes Councils will close grounds for the Saturday but leave them open
on Sunday. NSFA's policy is to play as many matches as possible on any ground
that is left open by councils and schools.
The principle method of communicating information on ground closures is via the
NSFA website. The website message is also repeated on Facebook and
Twitter. The wet weather phone line will also be updated if grounds are closed
1900 957 016 (Please note this call is 83 cents per minute. A higher rate applies to
calls from mobile phones or payphones).
If in doubt, you can also check Ku-Ring-Gai Council website for sportsground
closures.
MANAGERS & COACHES DUTIES
Kit
One duty of a Manager is keeping the kit list and ensuring it is all returned at the
end of the season. If there are any queries regarding any part of the kit please
contact your age coordinator or the Equipment Officer.
Open Communication
An important aspect of a team manager is keeping the lines of communication
open between players, parents, coach and from the club which includes:


Letting the team know who needs to be where and when on Saturdays, any
updates on cancelled / moved training, agreeing and putting scores into
system
Coordinate rostering of particular game day e.g. oranges/parent referee or
specific training activities.
Familiarise yourself and the parents with the rules of the game which can be
found under http://www.bannockburnrovers.com.au/teams.html (Password
is ‘season2017’ and then clicking on the appropriate age group.


Record scoring for game.
Decide how you would like to contact the players/parents and arrange details
accordingly.
Teamer.net is a great way to get email/SMS out to all players about training,
games, cancellations and any team event. NB: Check SPAM when first setting up.
Player of the Match - Trophy
Purchasing a Player of the Match trophy is a great way to keep the kids
incentivised to try hard each week. Player of Match can also bring oranges each
week (easy way to avoid another roster)
Hornsby Trophies - $7- $9 - player of match trophy
Address: 103 Hunter Lane, Hornsby NSW 2077

Forfeits
All forfeits need to be notified via a form to the Club Secretary. Please print and fill
it in and email it back to the Club Secretary.
Coaches
The coaches’ role is to constantly look for ways to improve their team and improve
the skills of the individual players by giving players the correct skills, proper
conditioning, game knowledge and self-confidence. A coach should NEVER
referee a game.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN
All people who hold positions of responsibility need to be aware that they are
responsible for the children in their team/care. They need to be seen to be above
reproach.
As a requirement of football nsw the club needs to have documentation to ensure
that we have followed procedures and done the best we can to ensure that we
don't have people with a dubious past working with our children.
Coaches or managers with their own child in a team only needs to sign a member
protection declaration or has the option to go to the kids guardian and get a
working with children number which does a complete police and court history
check. All T3, NSFA / outside providers will need the wwc number.
Rovers Coaches & Managers Info - 2017
Page 6
All committee, coaches, managers, and suppliers will need to have provided a
wwc number or have signed a declaration by April 1st to be compliant.
Should an issue with a child arise the president and member protection officer
need to be advised as there are procedures of notification that need to be
followed.
