The summer camp schedule will be strictly enforced, including arrival and departure times.
Since we have a number of on and off campus activities planned, we are unable to
accommodate late arrivals or early dismissals. Unexpected illnesses and/or emergencies
are the only exceptions to this rule.
Students attending the Misericordia University’s Summer Camp must be accompanied by a
parent or guardian upon arrival and departure. Under no circumstances will a student be
allowed to possess a vehicle while on campus. If a student should arrive with his/her own
vehicle that student must relinquish his/her keys to security upon arrival. Keys will be
returned at the time of departure from camp.
Students will not be permitted to leave the camp on their own. A legal parent or guardian
will need to be present upon dismissal from camp on Wednesday June 25, 2008. Under no
circumstances will a student be allowed to transport any other student from camp at the
time of dismissal.
Alcohol, tobacco, and any other form of illegal substance are prohibited on campus.
Should a student require prescription or over the counter medication, a note from a parent
or guardian must be provided explaining the need. Staff will have the right to inspect
personal belongings in order to insure the safety of all the students. Any student found to
be in violation will be immediately dismissed from camp and the proper authorities
contacted.
Students are not permitted to have visitors on campus at anytime during their stay.
Students can possess cell phones; however, they will only be permitted to use them in
their dorm rooms. (This includes using phone for text messages). The use of cell phones
will not be permitted during camp activities and community visits.

Smoking is not permitted at anytime during camp.
During down time students will be allowed to explore the campus on their own; however,
no student will be allowed to leave the campus grounds without being accompanied by a
camp counselor.
A camp curfew will be enforced in order to insure the safety off all students. Students
must be in their dorm by 10:00PM and in their rooms by 11:00PM. Counselors will conduct
periodic room checks to monitor compliance.
A campus dress code will be strictly enforced. For outdoor activities casual, comfortable
clothes are acceptable. For community visits attire must be professional (i.e., khaki pants,
short sleeve shirts, knee length skirts, NO open toe shoes or sneakers, NO jeans, shorts,
low rise pants, mini skirts, or shirts exposing the mid drift).
Students are expected to participate in all scheduled activities including community visits,
meals, games, movies etc. If for any reason a student is unable to participate in an activity,
he/she must remain in the presence of a camp counselor.
I understand and agree to abide by the aforementioned terms and conditions as they relate
to my participation in the Misericordia University’s Communications Career Exploration
Camp.
