GRADES 3 - 5 FLOATY RELAY: Swimmers wearing flotation devices swim 25 yards. Swimmers must touch the wall before the next swimmer can start (Flotation devices must be supplied by swimmer) DOGGY PADDLE RELAY: Swimmers each swim a 25 yard doggy paddle PUMPKIN PUSH RELAY: Swimmers use a kick board to transport a pumpkin to the end of the pool and hand off to the next swimmer. GRADES 6 - 8 Superhero Relay – see description to the right Pumpkin Hug Relay – Swimmers use a kickboard to transport a pumpkin to the end of the pool and hand off to the next swimmer Grade Level Relay – See description on right Individual Medley – swimmer does 25 yards of each stroke (Fly, Back, Breast, Free) T-Shirt Relay – see description to the right Hand Flipper 50 – swim 2 lengths with flippers on hands, stroke is swimmers choice Duck Balance Backstroke – must keep a rubber duck balanced on swimmers forehead while completing 50 backstroke GRADES 9-12/ADULT Relays (4 Per Team) Tag Team Relay – 2 swimmers each swim a 50 twice. They must dive from the block each time Salmon Run Relay – Sprint 25 yards and complete 10 pushups before the next swimmer can enter the water Spud Fist Freestyle Relay – Swim with potato held in hands while swimming 50 Freestyle Parent Relay – Parents swim against each other GRADES 9 - 12/ADULT Individual/Pair Events Lungbuster – swim farthest in one breath One-Arm Bandit – 50 swim with 1 arm Hand Flipper 50 – swim 2 lengths with flippers on hands stroke is swimmers choice Corkscrew 50 – switch between free/back Superhero Relay – Students swim 25 yards each wearing a cape around their chest Tennis Ball Breaststroke – must keep ball underneath the swimmer’s chin Pumpkin Hug Relay – Swim 25 yards while keeping a pumpkin submerged under water Duck Balance Backstroke – must keep rubber duck balanced on forehead for a 50 Grade Level Relay – Students from the same grade compete against each other and/or Students from the same school compete against one another in teams based on grade level 50 Butterfly – swim butterfly for 2 lengths T-Shirt Relay – Sprint 25 in a very large t-shirt. The next swimmer must put on the same t-shirt before entering the water Alumni Relay – former swim team members compete against other alumni Butterfly Relay – all relay team members swim 50 yards of the Butterfly stroke Three-Legged Race – two swimmers connected by a pair of tights swim 50 yards Deadweight 50 – swimmers carry another swimmer who is not allowed to kick, once they reach 25 yards, the swimmers switch who the deadweight is Potato Sack Race – 25 yard hop along the bottom of the pool with legs in a potato sack
