forehands, backhands, volleys and overheads. Players can hit wide
and T serves, and direct their returns crosscourt and down the line.
They also understand how tournaments work.
Blue: Players have directional control of groundstrokes. This player
has begun to demonstrate the backhand slice, overhead, serve and
returns, and has shown control of the volleys crosscourt. This player
can also feed a ball and rally mini tennis consistently.
Orange: Players have achieved basic consistency on crosscourt
and down-the-line groundstrokes. This level requires successfully
controlled forehand and backhand volleys down the line and the
ability to begin points with a serve.
Gold: Players’ improved racket control allows them to control the
ball crosscourt or down the line. This skill level is also able to hit
forehand and backhand volleys down the line.
