MY PERSONAL COMMUNICATION DICTIONARY
This is a dictionary of how _______________communicates a message, what it means and
what you should do to acknowledge his/her message.
You should fill this dictionary in if the person has little or no speech, their speech is hard to
understand, they say certain words that mean something else or if the person uses gestures,
vocalisations, or actions to communicate. As a guide you can start by describing how the
person communicates the following: Yes, no, I don’t want, I am sick, I am happy, I am sad, I
am angry, I need the toilet, I am thirsty, I am hungry, I want to chat, I am bored.
