LADIES’ NEWS
CLUB NEWS
On Wednesday 29 March, an
extraordinary meeting of members
was held at the Club. At that meeting,
a number of important matters was
discussed, including the financial
status of the Club and the effects of
the president’s resignation and the
likely departure of another Board
member. The meeting called for selfnominations to the Board to ensure
the Club’s viability to operate. It is
pleasing to report that, as a result,
several members did indeed
nominate.
At a subsequent extraordinary Board
Meeting, the following members of
the Board were decided and positions
determined:
March has been a busy month with
Pennants in full swing. Brindabella
Shield have been successful winning
their first 3 games with their only loss
against Gungahlin Lakes, with only
one round left before semi-finals on
the 23rd April. The girls are hoping
for a finals birth.
CSGA Plate and Bronze Shield both
commenced on the 3rd March with
only 1 win each. It is not looking
good for the finals.
The annual Goulburn v Bowral
match was played on the 21st March
with Bowral coming out the victors
61/2 games to 51/2. Looking forward
to the return match in October.
The 1st round of the Hoddle Cup was
played on Saturday the 1st April with
Chris Hobbs in the lead in Div 1 and
Marilyn Manfred for Div 2. Good
luck for 2nd round to be played on the
8th April .
Coming up on 19 April is our Patron
Pam Morris 2 person multiplier. So
please ladies get your names down.
Congratulations to Debbie Collins
for her eagle on the 12th hole on the
29th March .

The sheet for the Long Reef Visit is
on the notice board; it is on Sunday
30th April. Please write your name
on the sheet for the days you are
playing and with whom if you
already have partners as I need to
organise things with Peter Verrills.
You are responsible for your own
accommodation if you are staying the
night.
The Bill Hughes Knockout Match
Play is taking names. The first 32
with names and money will be
entered into the draw. It is played as
Handicap Matchplay and sheets for
entry and the rules are on the notice
board.

From Captain Rick Wanless
Hello for April! Things have changed
not only the seasons. We have had
our Extraordinary Club Meeting and
we have a new Head Greens Keeper.
A big thank you to Darren and all the
best for your life in the West. I have
also started to utilise the Notice
Board in the entry way left of the
stairs on the way to the locker rooms.
The Mick Williams Knockout is
underway and the sheet with the draw
and completion dates are on the
notice board. It is up to the players to
organise their games by the closing
dates or both sides could be
disqualified.
Talking about Matchplay, Pennants
is over for 2017, and all but one side
made the finals. Well done to the
handicap team who lost the final 4/3.
An outstanding season guys and we
are proud of you all.
If you think you could be good at
Match play or just want to enter a
different format like the one the PGA
are playing at the moment the entry
forms for the Bill Hughes Handicap
Match play are on the notice board.
You might have observed that the
notice board gets a lot of mention in
my submission for this month’s Fore.
That is because all golf competition,
upcoming events, and all relevant
golf information will be on the notice
board so please take notice as this is
one place to find out information.
There will also be an upcoming
events page on the inhouse television
as well.
winter. Later this month we’ll be
getting our new winter clothing
range. Think about Mothers’ Day,
birthday presents or selfishly spoiling
yourself.
So that’s all for this month and
remember
Call into the pro shop – we’ll be
pleased to show you the range.
A bad day at the golf course beats a
good day at work.
Andrew
And again congratulations to our
Handicap Pennants side.
