ELIGIBILITY:
Normally only Australian citizens are eligible for employment, although noncitizens may be appointed where they are prepared to take necessary steps to
seek citizenship as a condition of employment.
To satisfy character requirements all AFSA employees must undergo a police
records check.
Where a person has received a redundancy benefit from APS agency
employment and their corresponding redundancy benefit period has not
expired, they may be ineligible for employment.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Perform preliminary and routine registrations, investigations and administration of estates and
provide information and support to team members to achieve business line objectives.
Contribute to a team environment that drives corporate governance and innovation and is
focussed on achieving business outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
DUTIES

Assess and issue applications in accordance with legislation, established operational
practices, policies and procedures
Gather information and investigate allocated tasks
Manage allocated matters and tasks through to completion
Identify and refer matters for escalation
Maintain corporate and legislative records in accordance with established requirements
(National Personal Insolvency Index (NPII), trustee file management, case notes)
Produce routine correspondence and reports for stakeholders
Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve operational quality and quantity targets
Engage with clients regarding routine and preliminary enquiries
Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices and process
improvement
Maintain effective communication with key internal stakeholders
Display, uphold and adhere to the APS Values, Code of Conduct and AFSA’s Workplace
Diversity Program
Comply with WHS obligations and take responsibilities for own health and safety and that
of others
Understand and comply with the agency risk management framework and relevant
legislation. Contribute to identification, reporting and mitigation of risks in your area.

INVESTIGATIONS
Conducts fact-finding to gather, confirm and analyse information in relation to allocated tasks.
LEGISLATIVE INTERPRETATION AND APPLICATION
Reads and applies legislative instruments to identify pertinent legislative issues to decide a
course of action and to establish matters for escalation.
STAKEHOLDER LIAISON AND MANAGEMENT
Assists to maintain an appropriate level of consultation and interaction with relevant
internal/external stakeholders to facilitate open communication, discussion and collaboration so
as to achieve desired goals.
CLIENT SERVICE
Provides accurate and timely support to clients with telephone or written queries applying client
service standards, procedures and techniques, to provide information, resolve routine enquiries
or to escalate matters.
COMMUNICATES EFFECTIVELY
Communicates clearly, concisely and unambiguously to diverse audiences with influence and
confidence both verbally and in writing.

A selection decision may be made on the basis of your application only. If interviews are conducted,
it is anticipated that they will be held in the week commencing 12 December 2016. A telephone
interview may be conducted in the first instance. Candidates may also be required to undergo
psychometric and/or work sample testing as part of this selection process.
