The seminar Economic aspects of European integration is devoted to analysis of different aspects of
European integration, especially with focus on functioning of the enterprises on the Single European
Market, European Union (EU) supportive schemes to the business sector, external relations of the
EU. Also other topics agreed with supervisor related to the EU functioning are accepted. The thesis
can take form of review, case study, project, report/ analysis etc. (according to the BSc thesis
standards).

Description of the seminar
The subject matter of the seminar covers the European integration process and both internal and
external activities of the European Union. The seminar aims to help participants develop their
knowledge of how the EU works in a wide range of policy areas, form agriculture and internal market
to trade and humanitarian aid. The special attention is paid to regional policy which aims to reduce
the significant economic, social and territorial disparities still existing between the EU’s regions. This
includes especially the Structural Funds that financially support actions in the field of infrastructure,
research and innovation, environment, social integration, employment and job opportunities.
The seminar will use a mixture of presentations, panel discussions and case studies and also
individual talks. At the end of the seminar, students should have a clear understanding of how to
write the BSc thesis in the fields listed above but also in other fields related to the particular interests
of students

Description of the seminar:
Three main areas of the seminar are: marketing, companies internationalization process, and
companies cooperation.
The thesis should include both theoretical and empirical analysis. Empirical analysis must be
performed on the example of real, existing company, a few companies or industry (the use of
secondary data is possible).

Description of the seminar:
The seminar “Quantitative Equity Portfolio Management in Global Perspective” focuses on
quantitative tools and techniques to build and manage tactical equity portfolios. Key contents of the
seminar are as follows: fundamental quantitative techniques, the stock market anomalies (e.g. postearnings announcement drift) and return patterns, short-term return forecasting models, and tactical
long-only and market-neutral portfolio strategies.

International Marketing: Development of business relationships in the internationalisation process
The area of the dissertations prepared should concentrate on international aspects of marketing
strategies and activities. The special focus will be placed on the cooperation with various actors in
the international market (purchasers, suppliers, competitors etc.). The aim of the dissertation should
be to present the correlation between business relationships developed with specified actors and
company’s success. Various means of developing market relationships may be analysed.

Description of the seminar
The subjects of interest within this seminar are related to global sourcing, its origins and the
opportunities and risks that are associated with the use of this strategy. Subjects of students'
interests can also constitute particular forms of relocation (global sourcing), these are: in-house
sourcing, offshoring, outsourcing and offshore outsourcing. Finally, within the seminar students may
investigate relations of global sourcing and relocations with enterprise competitiveness. The
mentioned above issues can be analyzed as well from a global (world) and macro (country)
perspectives, as be analyzed from a microeconomic perspective of an enterprise. The scope of the
research area may also involve a various perspectives of global sourcing users, as it may concern as
well suppliers/vendors as buyers.
