Gillis Play & Learn
June 2017 Newsletter
In the Monkey room this month we changed the room around and
brought in new toys! The children have been going on long walks in their
strollers together and even saw a puppy this month, which was super
exciting! The children have enjoyed painting together and getting out into
the play yard as much as possible.
The Sharks enjoyed doing different kinds of painting this month such
as potato stamping, stick painting, finger painting and dandelion painting!
The children are very into the outdoor play yard and have been searching
for bugs together. They have also enjoyed colouring outside with outside
chalk. Building ramps has been a big interest of the children and they have
also been into listening to stories at our Cd book center!
In the Cheetah room this month the children have enjoyed going on
walks to our local parks! They have also enjoyed planting our seedlings
that we have been growing into the garden! We have been learning about
new fruits and vegetables such as Star fruit, Avocado, Papaya and
Rhubarb!
This month the School Agers have been building lots of forts
together! We have been planting many new plants in our garden like,
cucumber, strawberries, peas and pumpkins! We have enjoyed playing
outside together and even went to our nearby park and climbed a tree
together under teacher supervision! We communicated with each other as
we climbed to ensure that everyone had a safe, fun time!
If you have any extra fruits or veggies in
your garden this summer the center
would be more then happy to take them
off your hands!
With the warm weather upon us we ask
that you please send in a labeled hat for
your child to wear so that they are
adequately protected from the sun.
Thank you to all the families that sold
chocolate bars and raffle tickets in our

1st place raffle winner was Amanda
Mastolonardo, 2nd was Elton Wilkinson
and 3rd was Jeremy Gowan.
Thank you to all the parents who
brought in treats during our week
of the Early Childhood Educator
this year! The staff would like to
thank the board of directors for
their new hoodies!
