TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Debit to Win it Contest
Contest Period
1. The “Debit to Win It Contest” (“Contest”) organized by CIMB Bank Berhad (13491-P) (“CIMB Bank”)
and shall run from 1 November 2016 to 28 February 2017, both dates inclusive (“Contest Period”).
2. This Contest is held in conjunction with “Debit to Win It Contest” organized by CIMB Islamic Bank
Berhad (“CIMB Islamic Bank”). In carrying out the Contest in conjunction with CIMB Islamic Bank, the
Prizes under this Contest shall come from the same pool of Prizes intended for the Contest organized
by CIMB Islamic Bank.
3. Every mention of “CIMB” or “Bank” refers to CIMB Bank.
4. CIMB reserves the right to change the duration and/or the commencement and/or expiry dates of the
Contest Period by giving fourteen (14) calendar days prior notice.
Eligibility
5. Subject to the terms and conditions herein, the Contest is open to all existing and new CIMB Debit
MasterCard Cardholders (“Debit Cardholders”).
6. The following persons/ entities shall NOT be eligible to participate in this Contest:
a) Permanent, temporary and/or contract staff or employees of CIMB Bank/CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad
(including its subsidiaries and related companies); and/or
b) Representative and/or agents (including advertising and promotion agents) of CIMB, Mastercard
Worldwide Pte. Limited, a company organized in the State of Delaware, having its office and
principal place of business at 2000 Purchase Street, Purchase, New York, NY 10577-2509, United
States of America (“MasterCard”) (including their representative subsidiaries and related
companies); and/or
c) Sole-proprietorships, Partnerships, Charitable/Non-profit Organizations/Societies, Corporate and
Commercial Customers; and/or
d) Individuals below the age of eighteen (18) years.
(hereinafter referred to as the “Eligible Participant(s)”)

7. It shall be the Eligible Participant(s)’ responsibility to ensure their mobile phone numbers or e-mail
addresses provided are current and updated with CIMB in the event of any changes being made to the
same by them. CIMB shall not be responsible to the Eligible Participant(s) for any loss (including loss
of opportunity and consequential loss flowing there from) suffered in the event the Eligible Participant(s)’
mobile phone numbers or e-mail addresses in CIMB’s record is not current or correct.
Qualifying Criteria
8. No registration is required to participate in this Contest.
9. This Contest will run for 4 months with the effective dates stated in Table 1 (“Contest Month”).
10. To participate in this Contest, the Eligible Participant(s) shall spend a minimum of RM30 in accumulated
receipts with their CIMB Debit MasterCard on retail transactions during each Contest Month indicated
in Table 1 below (“Spend Criteria”). Every RM30 accumulated CIMB Debit MasterCard spend on
retail transactions performed by the Eligible Participant(s) during each Contest Month shall be entitled
to earn 1 entry (“Contest Entry or Entries”) and the entry(ies) will be rounded down to the nearest
whole number.

For Example
Customer A has accumulated RM1,100 retail transactions on Contest Month 1 (1 Nov 2016 – 30 Nov
2016); the Contest Entries earned by customer A is 36 entries (RM1,100/RM30).
11. If an Eligible Participant(s) holds more than one CIMB Debit MasterCard, retail transactions made using
each CIMB Debit MasterCard will be combined to meet the Spend Criteria. Retail transaction made by
joint accountholders, will be combined with retail transactions the first named account holder i.e. the
primary account holder. For the purpose of this Contest, the secondary joint accountholder(s) is not
eligible to participate in this Contest.
12. Transaction must be posted to the Eligible Participant(s)’ CIMB Debit MasterCard within the dates
(Malaysia GMT) shown in Table 2 below to be included towards meeting the Spend Criteria. Please
note that transactions may be posted by the merchant as late as 30 days after the transaction date.
The Bank will not be held responsible for late posting.

13. Retail transactions shall mean purchase transactions for goods and services incurred for personal
consumption and not for business purposes and shall not include the following: a) Quasi Cash transactions – for example betting and/or gaming transactions;
b) Payment of annual fees or service charges, delivery charges, cash payments, card replacement
fee, government service tax, dispute charges, fraud charges or any other fees, charges or
penalties whether imposed by CIMB or otherwise;
c) Cash advance/withdrawal/deposit transactions; and
d) Any unposted, cancelled, void, disputed, refunded, fraudulent or unauthorised transactions.
Any determination by CIMB as to what constitutes retail transaction shall be conclusive and shall not
be challenged in any manner whatsoever.
14. All the transaction performed during the Contest Month will only be taken into account during the
specific Contest Month and cannot be brought forward to next Contest Month.
15. All the Entries earned during the Contest Month will only be taken into account during the specific
Contest Month and cannot be brought forward to next Contest Month.
16. The Eligible Participant(s)’ CIMB Current or Savings Account(s) and CIMB Debit MasterCard must not
be dormant or closed during the Fulfillment Period.
Prize
17. There are four (4) rounds of winners’ selection under this Contest. Each Contest Month will have 3
winners and each winner will get RM50,000 Cash Prize (“Prize”) as illustrated in Table 3.

18. A total of RM150,000 Prize is allocated for each Contest Month.

19. Total amount of Prize for this Contest is capped at RM600,000 only.
Winner Selection
20. At the end of the Contest Period, the Eligible Participant(s) who have earned Entries under a Contest
Month will be randomly shortlisted by an automated selection system from the total Entries earned
within that Contest Month (“Shortlisted Participants”).
21. Each Contest Entry earned during a Contest Month shall enable an Eligible Participants a chance to
be shortlisted for the Prize.
22. Shortlisted Participants shall be contacted via telephone at their mobile number maintained in CIMB’s
records and shall be required to answer two (2) questions correctly before being declared as the
winner (“Contest Winner”) of the Contest Month.
23. In the event the Shortlisted Participant(s) fails to answer the question correctly and/or is not contactable
for any reasons whatsoever, two (2nd) attempts will be made to call the Shortlisted Participants. Where
the third (3rd) attempts is still unsuccessful, such Shortlisted Participant will be disqualified and will not
be entitle to win the Prize.
24. CIMB shall not be liable in anyway whatsoever in the event any Shortlisted Participant cannot be
contacted for whatever reason(s). The next-in-line Shortlisted Participant under the Contest Month will
be called.
25. CIMB has the sole discretion to fix the appointed date (Monday – Friday) and time (9am – 6pm) to
make the phone calls to the Shortlisted Participants. CIMB shall not be held responsible for call made
to the Shortlisted Participants which are:
a) Not completed or disconnected due to any reasons whatsoever;
b) Not answered or not proceeded with due to unavailability of the Shortlisted Participants at the
appointed date and time and/or due to any other whatsoever reasons.
26. CIMB reserves the right to record these phone conversations.
27. For avoidance of doubt, all telecommunication charges shall be borne by the Shortlisted Participant
(including roaming charges incurred by the Shortlisted Participant outside Malaysia) as a result of CIMB
contacting the Shortlisted Participants and CIMB shall not be liable for the same.
28. All question and answer sessions will be judged and decided by a panel of judges selected by CIMB
and the decisions of the panel judges selected by CIMB shall be final and binding
29. Each Eligible Participant is only allowed to win a maximum of one (1) Prize under this Contest.
30. For avoidance of doubt, an Eligible Participant who participated in this Contest and the “Debit to Win It
Contest” with CIMB Islamic Bank shall only be entitle to win one (1) prize under both Contest during
the Contest Period.
31. CIMB will notify the Contest Winners via electronic communication display at CIMB’s website at
www.cimbclicks.com.my or via electronic mail or via SMS to the Contest Winners’ mobile numbers or
by any other means of notification which CIMB may select if they have won the Prize .

32. Cash Prize will be credited into the Contest Winners Principal CIMB Current or Saving account
determined by the bank within 8 to 10 weeks after the end of the Contest Period.
33. At the time of selecting the Contest Winners, the CIMB Current or Savings accounts of the selected
Contest Winners MUST be in good standing and MUST NOT be in breach of any of the terms and
conditions in CIMB Current or Savings account agreement or CIMB card or account agreement or
delinquent, and/or be invalid or cancelled within CIMB’s definition, otherwise they will be disqualified
from participating or being the Contest Winner in this Contest.
34. The Contest Winners shall attend the prize presentation ceremony and/or other publicity programs as
and when required by CIMB at the Contest Winer’s own costs and expenses. If the Contest Winners
fail to attend such ceremony and/or publicity programs, CIMB reserves the right to forfeit the Cash Back
of the Contest Winners and select another Contest Winner.
35. The Cash Prize will be credited into the Contest Winner’s CIMB Current or Savings accounts. CIMB
will not entertain any request from the Contest Winner to credit the Cash Back to the Contest Winner’s
other CIMB Current or Savings accounts, CIMB Credit Card account, CIMB Debit Card account or
CIMB Kwik Account or any third party’s CIMB Current or Savings accounts, CIMB Credit Card account,
CIMB Debit Card account or CIMB Kwik Account.
General Terms and Conditions
36. By participating in this Contest, the Eligible Participant(s) are deemed to have read, understood and
agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions herein and agree all decisions fairly and reasonably
made by of CIMB in relation to every aspect of this Contest, including the Prize to be given away and
the determination of Contest Winners shall be final, binding and conclusive.
37. The Eligible Participant(s)’ participating Debit MasterCards (i) MUST not be in breach of material terms
and conditions of CIMB Debit MasterCard agreement or CIMB account agreement or CIMB Clicks
Internet Banking Agreement or CIMB Clicks Mobile Banking Agreement, AND (ii) MUST not be
terminated or closed or made subject to any terminated or closed or be made subject to any attachment,
adverse orders made by the Court or any authorities sanctioned by laws, AND (iii) MUST not be in
delinquent, and/ or be invalid or cancelled within CIMB’s definition, otherwise the Eligible Participant(s)
will be disqualified from participating in this Contest and shall not be entitled to receive the Cash Back.
38. Decision of CIMB’s judges in relation to every aspect of the Contest shall be final, binding and
conclusive provided always that the decision must appear to be fair and reasonable. No further
correspondence, appeals, protests or attempts to dispute the same would be entertained.
39. CIMB shall not be responsible or held liable in any manner whatsoever in respect of technical failures
or any kind, whatsoever intervention, interruptions, and/ or electronic or human error in the
administration and/ or processing of the transaction performed by the Eligible Participant(s) via CIMB
Debit MasterCard unless the same is due to CIMB’s willful default or gross neglect.
40. CIMB reserves the right to suspend, cancel, terminate or withdraw this Contest in whole or part, by
giving the Eligible Participant(s) prior notice of fourteen (14) calendar days. For the avoidance of doubt,
suspension, cancellation, termination or withdrawal of this Contest shall not entitle the Eligible
Participant(s) to any claim or compensation against CIMB for any losses or damages suffered by the
Eligible Participant(s) or any party as a direct or indirect result of the act of suspension, cancellation,
termination or withdrawal.

41. CIMB reserves the right upon giving prior notice of twenty one (21) calendar days to vary (whether by
addition, deletion, modification, amendment, or otherwise howsoever) (“Amendment”) any of the terms
and conditions herein. Notification to the Eligible Participant(s) in respect of the Amendment shall be
effected at CIMB’s absolute discretion through any one of the following means of communication,
namely, by ordinary mail to the Eligible Participant(s)’ last known address or by posting a notice
regarding the Amendment at each of CIMB’s branches or by effecting an advertisement regarding the
Amendment in one newspaper of CIMB’s choice, or via CIMB’s website or by any other means of
notification which CIMB may select and the Amendment shall be deemed as binding as from the date
of notification of the Amendment or from such date as may be specified by CIMB in the notification.
Eligible Participants acknowledge and agree to access CIMB Bank’s website at regular intervals to view
the Terms and Conditions and to ensure that they are kept up-to-date whit any changes or variations
to these Terms and Conditions.
42. These Terms and Conditions (as amended from time to time pursuant to Clause 41) shall prevail over
any provisions or representations contained in any other promotional materials advertising this Contest.
This Terms and Conditions are to be read in conjunction with the prevailing terms and conditions of the
CIMB Debit MasterCard agreement or CIMB account agreement or CIMB Clicks Internet Banking
Agreement or CIMB Clicks Mobile Banking Agreement and terms and conditions in CIMB Current or
Savings account agreement and/or CIMB card or account agreement which shall apply in addition to
the Terms and Conditions herein.
43. By participating in this Contest, the Eligible Participant(s) hereby agrees that shall not hold CIMB liable
in the event that CIMB is unable to perform in whole or in part of any of its obligation herein, attributable
directly or indirectly to the failure of any mechanical or electronic device, data processing system,
transmission line, electrical failure, industrial dispute, war, strike, riot, any act of God beyond CIMB's
control or due to any factor in a nature of a force majeure which is beyond CIMB’s reasonable control.
44. By acceptance or receipt of Prize, the Contest Winner agrees not to hold harmless CIMB and its
affiliates and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from and against any claim,
action, proceeding, judgment, damage, loss, expense or liability suffered by CIMB and its affiliates and
their respective directors, officers, employees and agents in connection with such Contest Winner’s
participation in the Contest or receipt, redemption or use of the Cash Back.
45. CIMB shall not be liable to any party, including the Eligible Participant(s), for any loss or damage of
whatsoever nature suffered by the Eligible Participant(s) or any party (including but not limited to any
injury or death, loss of income, profits or goodwill, direct or indirect, incidental, consequential,
exemplary, punitive or special damages of any party) howsoever arising, in relation to the Eligible
Participant’s participation or non-participation in the Contest including arising from the Eligible
Participant’s receipt, non-receipt and/or delayed receipt of the phone call or Short Message Service
(SMS) or e-mail by the selected Eligible Participant unless the same is due to CIMB’s willful default or
gross neglect.
46. CIMB accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the Prize or the use thereof.
Any tax filing obligation or any tax payment due to any authority as a result of receipt of the Prize remain
the sole responsibility of the Winner. It is the responsibility of each Winner to seek independent advice
on the possible implications this may have on his/her own financial situation.
47. By participating in the Contest, the Eligible participant(s) hereby consent to and agree that CIMB shall
be entitled to publish and/or display at no costs to the Eligible Participant(s), materials and/or
information, including but not limited to the names, identification number, city of residence and
photographs of Eligible Participants(s) who win the Prize for this Contest for advertising and publicity
purposes in any manner it deems appropriate. Non-compliance may result in an alternative Contest
Winners being chose.

48. In the event of any inconsistency(ies), conflict(s), ambiguity(ies) or discrepancy(ies) between the
Bahasa Malaysia and English version or versions in other languages of these terms and conditions, the
English version of these terms and conditions shall prevail. Notwithstanding the aforementioned where
request had been made by the Eligible Participant(s) and noted and acknowledged by CIMB in its
records that the Bahasa Malaysia version of the terms and conditions shall govern the operation of the
CIMB Current or Savings Account(s) linked to the Debit MasterCard, then the Bahasa Malaysia version
of the terms and conditions herein shall prevail.
49. For feedbacks and/or complaints related to this Contest, the Eligible Participant(s) may contact CIMB’s
Customer Resolution Department bearing the following address, telephone and facsimile numbers (or
bearing such other address, telephone and facsimile numbers which CIMB may change by notification
