1. Have the students sit in groups of four or five. Ask them clear off their table, except one person will need to keep out a
pencil and place it in the center of their group’s table.
2. Hold up one worksheet and explain these directions:
 Each of you will get a worksheet, and your table will get one dice. Once you have the materials, you need to take
turns rolling the dice. Take turns in a clock-wise circle.
 The first person to roll a six will say “¡Seis!” and grab the pencil from the middle of the table. That person starts
filling out answers on their worksheet as fast as they can.
 Meanwhile, the other group members continue to take turns rolling the dice. Whenever anyone else rolls a six, they
say “Seis,” grab the pencil from whoever has it, and fill out answers on their sheet.
 To summarize, in this game, you take turns rolling the dice, you grab the pencil whenever you roll a six, and you fill
out answers on your own worksheet until someone else rolls a six and takes the pencil from you. At the end, we’ll
go over the answers. Any correct answer is one point, and any attempted (but incorrect) answer is a half point.
3. After making sure they understand the basic instructions, explain these hints:
 Sometimes, after you roll a six and grab the pencil, you’ll only get an answer or two written down before the pencil is
taken from you. That’s ok! Just keep taking turns rolling the dice, and you’ll probably get the pencil back soon.
 If you have the pencil, and a group member rolls a six, you have to hand the pencil over. It doesn’t matter if you’re in
the middle of writing a word- you need to hand it over.
 Be careful not to drop the dice on the floor! This will give whoever has the pencil extra time to write.
4. Have one or two students pass out the worksheets. Pass out the dice yourself. As you come to each group, ask if they
have any questions and determine who in the group will roll the dice first. Tell them they can begin!
5. As they play, feel free to walk around and joke with students about their good/bad luck. Let them play for six-eight
minutes, and flick the lights and announce “Un minuto más” one minute before ending the game. To end the game, ask
them to hold their pencils in the air. Pass out markers (you might want to pass these out toward the end of the game) and
go over answers. Give a whole point to each correct answer, and a half point to each attempted (but incorrect) answer.
Instructions: Take turns rolling the dice. If you roll a six, say "six" and grab the pencil. Fill in as many
answers as you can until someone else gets a six and takes the pencil. Bonne chance!
