Directions for printing Annual CELDT Score Parent Notification Letters
Below are the directions to access and run your annual parent notification of CELDT scores. Letters were created in
Spanish, Hmong and Punjabi. Titles in AERIES had to be abbreviated, but should be understandable. All letters were
designed to have both home language AND English. Therefore, the document for each student will be a two page letter.
Use of a printer allowing two-sided copying would be the most efficient way to print. Along with the AERIES letter, a
copy of the CDE CELDT Results Interpretation Guide should be included in the matching home language.
1. In Query mode enter one of the following “KEEP” statements to identify the desired group and click RUN

2. Close the pop-up screen, which returns you to the query screen.
Select “NEW” and run the following “List” statement: LIST STU PG SN FN LN BD GR STU.HL AD CY ST ZC BY GR
Click RUN
3. Close the pop-up screen returning to query screen. On the right side of the screen select “LETTERS” tab. Select
the letter which corresponds with the original KEEP statement and click on OK
4. Respond no to the “preprinted letterhead” question.
6. The letter will be displayed and is ready for print.
5. Respond “ok” to the printing options
Queries for identifying Reclassification candidates
Select “Query” mode in Aeries
1. Enter the following “KEEP” statement:
KEEP STU IF LF = 3 AND TG = “ “
Hit RUN.
This query selects your EL students.
2. Close the pop-up screen, which returns you to the query screen.
Select “NEW” and run the following “KEEP” statement:
KEEP STU TST IF TST.ID = CELDT AND TST.PT = 0 AND TST.OT > 3 AND TST.TD > 06/30/2013
This query will identify students who scored CELDT Proficient on the most recent results.
3. Close the pop-up screen, which returns you to the query screen.
Select “NEW” and run the following “KEEP” statement:
KEEP STU TST IF TST.ID = CST AND TST.PT = 1 AND TST.SS > 299 AND TST.TA = SPRG13
This query will identify students who scored 300 or better of the CST ELA.
4. Close the pop-up screen, which returns you to the query screen.
Select “NEW” and run the following “KEEP” statement:
KEEP STU TCH IF TCH.TE : Insert counselors name here
This query selects students by counselor’s name.
If your students are assigned to a counselor by grade, you may identify the students by using the following
“KEEP” statement:
KEEP STU IF GR = Insert grade level here
5. Close the pop-up screen, which returns you to the query screen.
Select “NEW” and run the following “LIST” statement:

This query will list the candidates and their CELDT and CST ELA scores.
Select “Student Name” column and sort A to Z.
