SUMMARY
This working paper provides a report on the status of Action Items assigned to
the Secretary at previous meetings.
ACTION
The working group is invited to note the content of the report and take action
as necessary.

INTRODUCTION
This paper provides an update on the status of OPEN ACTION ITEMS following the 14th
Meeting of WG-I.
Each item will be taken in turn and discussed. of implementing the specifications have been
identified.
1.1
Action Item 13-8

ICAO Secretariat will work to obtain IPV6 address blocks for the
Regions.

Efforts are being made to obtain a single address block for ICAO which will also accommodate
the ICAO 24-bit address. This item will be dealt with further under Agenda Item 6.

Status
This material was posted on the ACP Repository as “ATN Security Section formatted for Doc.

Description
14-2:
Secretary to modify Doc 9896 Rev 19 to include the proposed Secretary
modifications to ED-137 given in WPs 6 and 7 explaining that these
requirements are limited to the FAA. This is expected to be ready for
approval for publication as Edition 2 within two weeks.
Status
This work has been completed and publication is expected soon. In the meantime an “unedited
advance”copy of Edition 2 of 9896 has been posted on ICAO-Net. This item can therefore be considered

Secretary to take appendices A and B from Section 5 of the report of the Secretary
Working Group of the Whole and make these stand-alone documents.
These are to be clearly identified and placed in the general repository of
the ACP web-site.

Secretariat draft State Letter asking for (i) support from personnel with
IPS skills and (ii) an extension to the schedule for the work programe
based on the various reasons given above. In order to be effective State
Letter must ask for experts to be nominated by name with details of
expertise.

SARPS amendment changing the OSI Protocols to recommendations.

ICAO to apply for new TLD and draft appropriate guidance material on
the allocation of lower level domain names.

This was looked into however the cost and schedule for action proved to be prohibitive. Two
alternatives have been found; (i) use a private domain or (ii) use a trade-marked domain name.
Air Navigation Commission will be briefed on this and other issues on June 22 and with a view
to prioritising this item within ICAO. This is also covered under IP05. This item should remain
OPEN.

Secretary to capture some justifications on paper and circulate to WG-I
members. Once done, the Secretary to prepare a paper seeking the ACP
WGW to request the ANC to approve the formation of a Task Force.

No action taken yet. A number of proposals are to be put before the AN-Conf 12 on dealing with SWIM,
hence action would be premature. This item is therefore remains OPEN.
