Body Renew Sport & Social Club Winchester GENERAL CLUB RULES REGISTRATION • Each season / sport / league is a completely different registration. • There is a new season / sport / league every 8 to 10 weeks • Registration pricing can vary from season to season • Body Renew members will always have significant registration discounts COED PARTICIPATION & TEAM ROSTER ELIGIBILITY • All S&SC participants must be at least 21 years old before the season starts. • Participants can request to be on a team together, or individually register as a whole team. • Individuals who have registered (or small groups/pairs) will be placed on a team by the S&SC Director. • Every S&SC Season requires a minimum amount of females on the roster and in the field of play (refer to specific sport rules for minimum) • It is up to the team and team captain to assure that there are not only enough registered players on their roster to play, but also enough registered players (including the minimum amount of females) on the roster to play in case certain players can’t make it to certain games. o To help assure this all rosters must have at least 1 more male and female player registered that is needed for a starting line up in a sport (ex: if playing Kickball – 6 males and a minimum of 2 female players, 8 total, are needed to play. Therefore the roster must have at least 7 males and 3 females, 10 total). o At the same time a team can not have more than 5 players on a roster that exceeds the minimum amount of players required to play that particular sport (ex: if playing Kickball – minimum amount of players required to play is 6 males and 2 females equaling 8 total players, therefore a roster can not have more than 13 players). o If a team can’t fill their roster by the registration deadline, the S&SC Director can place player(s) who have registered as individuals on their team to fulfill the requirement. • • • • • • • Individuals who have registered (or small groups or pairs who have registered) and who need a team will be placed on a team by the S&SC Director. o The director will place them on team who is short on players or on a team who accepts to add them to their full roster. o A team must accept a registered individual to be placed on their team if they do not meet the roster requirement by registration deadline. Players who are have played in a more competitive league for a particular sport within the last year here at the Sports Center, or players who have played in a semi-professional or collegiate sport within the last two years, cannot play in that sport in the S&SC. o EX: If the next sport/season of S&SC is Flag Football, players who have played in the Competitive Adult Flag Football League in the last year cannot play or register for that S&SC sport and season. o EX: If a player has played college baseball in the last 2 years, they cannot play or register in an upcoming Wiffle Ball League. Each S&SC player must complete a registration form, with waiver, before participating in their first game or will not be allowed to participate. Players who have participated in professional sports are not allowed in the S&SC at any time. This includes leagues that use "Professional" in their name. (ex: “Professional Women's Tackle Football League.”) Each S&SC participate must have their league fee paid and cleared by the second week of the season or will not be allowed to participate. A player can only register beyond the registration deadline if they are joining a team that has already met all their roster requirements. However the individual must pay full price, and complete the registration before the 3rd week of the season. Teams will forfeit all games if either of the above GAME RULES is broken. PLAYER ID & ROSTER CHECK • Due to liability reasons, and assuring that everyone participating is indeed registered, all players must be able show a valid photo ID to Body Renew staff upon request at any time during the season. • Player(s) who refuse or are not in possession of their valid photo ID are prohibited from participating. • Body Renew S&SC staff can require a roster check prior to each game. ILLEGAL PLAYER The S&SC considers using an illegal player to be unsportsmanlike conduct. Illegal Players are defined as: • A player(s) who is on the roster for two S&SC teams at the same time • A player who is not a member of any current S&SC team • A player who has broken the age requirement • A player who has not completed league payment by Week 2 • A player who has not completed a registration form by Week 1 • A late add on who was added on a team & registered after week 3 • A player who is not a recreational/social level player ILLEGAL PLAYER PENALTIES • After the discovery of an illegal player(s), all wins to date will be removed from the penalized team standings & the opposing team’s loss result will reflect a win. • Penalized teams may participate in their remaining regular season games. • The illegal player(s) will be suspended from ALL teams for the remainder of the season, and potentially for all further S&SC leagues. UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT / SOCIAL LEAGUE CODE OF CONDUCT This is a rule for ALL Sport & Social Club Leagues. This is a SOCIAL LEAGUE WHERE OVER COMPETIVNESS IS NOT PERMITTED. Players must understand this is a social/recreational level of competition. Players must follow the code of conduct to register and play. • All players on all rosters must have playing time. • Following every game the referee can give a team a negative point in their overall standing points in the current league for a unsportsmanlike performance from an individual or the entire team o Example: With a win a team receives 3 points to goes towards your overall position in the league standings. So if you win, but receive a unsportsmanlike performance, your team will only receive 2 points. o Example: If a team loses they receive 0 points in the standings, but if they lose and receive an unsportsmanlike performance, they will receive -1 points in the overall standings. • A referee and ONLY the referee can give a team a unsportsmanlike performance for one or more of the following reasons: o Excessive arguing with the referee throughout the game o Aggressive play against the opposition o Negative comments towards the opposition said with bad intent, and not in fun nature • o Refusing to shake hands following the game with the opposition o Excessive foul language o Not having fun The referee may give a unsportsmanlike foul to an individual on top of giving the whole team a negative sportsmanship point during or after a game if they find one particular individual excessively breaking any of the sportsmanship rules above. o An unsportsmanlike foul results in a automatic ejection from the current game (if foul is called during play). o As well as suspension from the next contest the current league (if there is no next contest, the individual must take the suspension on the first game of the next season/sport they registered for in Sport & Social Club) o A referee may or may not give a warning of this foul prior to making an official suspension towards an individual player. o The S&SC Director can decide if a player is no longer permitted in all future S&SC leagues. SPORT & SOCIAL CLUB JERSEY All players must wear their official Sport & Social Club jersey for all games. • First time Sport & Social Club participates will be required to purchase a jersey for an additional $10 fee on top of the league fee (whether they are paying the Body Renew Member rate or NonMember rate). • Players who have participated in a previous Sport & Social Club sport can wear their jersey from that previous season to avoid a jersey fee (if on the same team color). • Players who are being placed/requesting a new team with a new jersey color, and who already have a different colored jersey from a previous S&SC season, can turn in their old jersey (clean and in good shape) for a new jersey color to avoid having to pay a jersey add on fee. Or they can simply purchase a second jersey for the $10 add on jersey fee. • Players who do not wear their jersey may be given a warning. • Individuals, who excessively forget and do not wear or bring their jersey, will be required to purchase a second jersey the night of competition or will not be permitted to play. GRACE PERIOD / GAME TIME SUBS • All leagues will have a 7-minute grace period following scheduled game time for teams waiting on the needed amount of players to show up to play. • Once that 7-minute grace period hits a team who is short must have completed 3 options for a regular season game to play: o 1). Have arranged for subs (EXCEPT FOR PLAYOFFS) o 2). Decide to play short with any associated penalties o 3). Forfeit the game • Subs will only be permitted during the regular season, and NOT in the playoffs in any Sport & Social Club sport/league/season. • A team who is short on players can have sub(s) as long as they met all of the Game Time Sub Guidelines: o The team is in fact short on players and/or females, and can only take subs as NEEDED. A team cannot have subs just for the sake of having more players (ex: Blue Team only has 6 players when kickball requires 8, or Blue Team only has 1 female in attendance and they need 2). o The subs must be a paid registered player from another team for that current sport/league/season & they must be in attendance with their jersey. o The opposing team must agree to allow you to have subs, and must approve who your subs are (ex: Blue Team is playing Red Team and Blue Team needs a sub, if Red Team does not agree or allow the subs Blue Team must play short). o The subs have been found and agreed upon by the 7-minute grace period. PLAYING SHORT & FORFIETS • If a team is short with no subs they can still decide to play their game as long as they are not more than two players short needed to play. (ex: Kickball plays 8 players at a time. A team can’t play with less than 6). • Female rules still apply regardless if a team is short on total players. • FORFIETING GAMES is highly frowned upon in the S&SC. If a team cannot find subs and cannot play for having less than two players short needed to play, they must forfeit the game to a losing forfeit score designated to that sport. • A TEAM CAN NOT FORFIET more than one game in a season. If they do, they will automatically be eliminated from playoff contention for that season. All players on that team for that season who has forfeited more than 1 game in a season, WILL NOT be permitted to play in the next Sport & Social Club Sport. DRINKING / BEVERAGES • Drinking is permitted during Sport & Social play on the sidelines. • No outside food or beverage of any kind is permitted. • It is an individuals and teams responsibility to drink responsibly. • Referee, Bartender or Management can cut off an individual or an entire team from drinking at any time DYNASTY RULE Since the S&SC was designed for fun recreational play, a team that wins four (4) straight championships must do one of the following: • Split their team up so they don’t have any more than 5 players who played on all 4 of the championship title runs. • Take a one season break from the S&SC
