Games for Camp Sunday! When you get a chance – play these games to energize your group, or to give them a break from a lesson. Change Three Things Intro: When you come to camp or go anywhere in nature – it’s important to be observant! Tell each person in the group to find a partner. Give the members of the group about 60 seconds to check out everything they can about their partners. Have one person in each group of two raise his/her hand. Then have the groups of two stand back to back. The person who raised his/her hand should now change three things about his/her appearance. This may be anything from taking off jewelry to pulling up a sock to removing glasses. After the person has changed three things about him/herself, have both partners turn around and try to guess the three changed things. Give a few minutes for this. If a person can not guess, have his/her partner show what was changed. Then give the other half of the group a chance to change three things. Repeat the sequence. Discussion: What are some of the things people changed? Why were some things harder to notice than other things? What did they notice more about their partners? What did they notice less? Why? Supplies: None Animal Game: Intro: Getting on the same page and working together is HARD! For this game – students will have to work with each other and be quick as can be! Get into a circle with one person in the center. This person will then call out elephant, cow, or rabbit. The person that is pointed out, as well as the person on each side of him/her, will have to coordinate their actions and make each animal as described. Elephant: center will stick both hands in front of their nose in a cylinder to form a trunk. On each side of them they will form the ears by leaning over placing one hand by the center persons hips and the other by their head. Cow: center person will enter lock their fingers and turn them upside down so that the thumbs point down forming udders. The outside people will then milk the udders. Rabbit: The center person will hold up their hands in front of their mouths to mimmick the bunny’s “Buckteeth”. The outside people will put up their inside arm (bunny ears) and thump their outside foot (like Thumper from Bambi!) Take some time to introduce these animals and then do a few practice rounds. Once you begin playing, if they do not get into this position by the count of 5 (counted by the pointer) then the last to get into position will become the center person. No supplies needed!
