Overview of the team and role
The Regional Operations SA/NT Team is the service delivery arm of the Regulatory
Operations Group and administers the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 through a
variety of prevention, assurance and enforcement activities including:




workplace inspections
awareness raising activities
audits
investigations.
The Administration Support Officer supports the management of regional operations
through building rapport, maintaining internal and external relationships, responding to
enquiries and provides routine advice on regulatory matters.
The person will undertake a variety of administrative activities which may include
drafting documents, property administration, negotiations with building management,
accounts processing, finances, program administration, procurement of site needs,
travel arrangements, management and coordination of reception services, mail, records,
regional and local events.
Experience in a regulatory environment is desirable.

Primary responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain internal and external relationships with stakeholders,
providing appropriate advice and managing the resolution of issues.
2. Contribute to planning and decision making within the work area.
3. Collaborate with other Regional Operations Administration Officers, business areas
and work teams and closely support the regional team to achieve outcomes and
facilitate the efficient operation of the team
4. Plan and complete competing tasks or requests to achieve personal or team priorities
5. Provide administrative support for the regional office including but not limited to
telephone calls, emails, diary management and undertake assigned, research and
preparation of relevant papers and correspondence.
6. Provide general administrative and secretariat support for meetings, training
courses, stakeholder forums, campaigns, portfolios and incident notifications.
7. Provide accurate and timely information and reports on incident notifications and
assist with the production of high quality reports, correspondence, documentation,
training and promotional material.
8. Participate in corporate learning and development activities.
9. Promote workplace safety, equity and diversity and environment practices in the
workplace.
10. Demonstrate and model safe attitudes, values and behaviours in order to uphold
your health and safety duties.
11. Commit to, promote and model the APS Values and APS Code of Conduct.

The Selection Process
Comcare uses a competitive merit process. This process will likely take approximately
six weeks for shortlisting, interviewing, reference checking and offers to be made.
