Shareen Mayers
Lead Primary English Adviser, Sutton Education Services Ltd
Shareen is an experienced primary school teacher (QTS) and senior leader, and is currently a leading English adviser
for a successful educational company in London. She is also an established educational author, writer and editor
specialising in English and assessment. Shareen authored the KS2 Rising Stars New Curriculum Spelling books and is
series editor for the Rising Stars Reading Optional Tests. She writes and advises for Letts, Harper Collins, Keen Kite
and Teach Primary magazine.
Shareen has a proven and extensive track record of raising standards in English and has worked with schools and LAs
across the country. She has presented at national conferences, including the Bett Show, the Education show, Rising
Stars conferences and for NACE. From time to time, Shareen works closely with the DfE as an expert panel member
for test development and is assessment adviser to Rising Stars. In addition, Shareen has an MA in education,
Postgraduate Certificate in Consultancy and the NPQH.
Steph King
Primary Mathematics Adviser, AK Mathematical Solutions Ltd.
Steph King is a mathematics education adviser with over 25 years’ experience in primary education, including senior
leadership, subject leadership and ten years as a mathematics adviser for a local authority, before working
independently as AK Mathematical Solutions Ltd.
As part of her role, she works alongside Senior Leaders, Subject Leaders, teachers and Teaching Assistants to raise
attainment in mathematics, focusing on strategies to secure learning.
Steph is an NCETM Professional Development Accredited Lead and writes and presents CPD for schools. She has also
been involved in national events for NACE, Rising Stars UK and UKLA.
Steph has written online courses and the two new series of books Maths for the More Able and Fluency with Fractions
for the publisher Rising Stars UK along with All New Brain Academy. She is a co-author of Rising Star Mathematics
and Achieve, which includes developing Key Stage 2 test material. Steph also writes for Hodder Education and Harper
Collins, which includes developing Key Stage 1 test material.
