24 second Shot Clock
START:
Press the START button. The Shot Clock will run down.
When the time reaches 00 seconds, the siren will sound 4
short beeps to indicate time has expired.
STOP:
Press the STOP button. The Shot Clock will remain at this
time regardless of the main timer.
RESET TO 24:
Press the RESET button to return the time to 24 seconds.
1:- If the RESET button is pressed while the Shot Clock is
running, it will return to 24 seconds and recommence running
down.
2:- If the Reset button is pressed while the Shot Clock is
stopped, it will reset to 24 seconds and remain stopped.
RESET TO 14:
With the clock stopped, Reset to 24 (as above), then press
RESET button again.
The shot clock can only be reset to 14 when the shot clock
has been stopped.
WHEN TO START/STOP/RESET THE SHOT CLOCK
Whenever a referee blows their whistle the first action of the Shot
Clock operator shall be to STOP the Shot Clock.

U14’s – when the ball is in front court
STOP:
-When ball hits the ring.
-ALL whistles.
RESET:
-When opposing team gains possession.
-On referee’s signal or direction.
STOPPED AND RESET TO 24:
-When a shot for goal hits the ring.
-When the opposing team are awarded a throw-in as a result
of an out of bounds call or Alternating Possession.
Back court -Foot violations called by referee’s.
- When a foul is called by referee
STOPPED AND RESET TO 14:
-When the shot clock shows more less than 13 seconds and
the same team that previously had control of the ball is
awarded a throw-in as the result of a foul
Front court-Foot violations called by referee’s.
- When a foul is called by referee
STOPPED BUT NOT RESET TO 24/14:
-When the same team that previously had control of the ball
is awarded a throw-in as a result of an out of bounds call or
Alternating Possession.
-When the same team that previously had control of the ball
is awarded a throw-in as the result of a double foul.
Front court – when a foul is called and there is 14 seconds or more the
24/14 second clock shall not be reset but shall remain the
same.
When there is less than 24/14 seconds remaining to be played in a
quarter/half or period of extra time, and a new 24/14 second
period is about to start, the Shot Clock shall not run.

THE REFEREE.
