ICI Only Assessment – Overview For access to the Network Rail Infrastructure Only Duration Maximum Delegates Cost per delegate Location 1 hour (Approx) 8 £20 plus VAT Croydon and Derby Step 1: Induction Each delegate will need a Sentinel profile, to be sponsored and issued with an e-learning username and password (provided by the primary sponsor) - Maximum of eight delegates per session This e-learning induction takes about one hour. It is organised in short sections, each one taking no more than 15-20 minutes to complete. We recommend that you work through the sections in the order they are shown. You do not have to study them all in one session. You can review each section as many times as you wish. At the end of the e-learning induction is a 'Challenge' which tests what you have learned. This is not a formal assessment: it is designed to help you decide if you are ready to move on to Step 2. If you get any parts of the Challenge wrong, a guide will advise you which sections of the induction you should review. You can take the Challenge more than once if you wish - your score is not recorded or viewed by anyone else. You must ensure you view all the information in this e-learning - you may be tested on it at the Assessment Centre. Many screens need to be explored, by clicking on pictures, arrows or "More" buttons, in order to see all the information. When you have seen all information in a section, the main menu shows a tick by the section name to show you have completed it. The Final Assessment, which leads to the ICI competence, is based on information contained within these learning screens. Step 2: Book your Final Assessment Once you have completed the induction in Step 1 and are confident that you know the information covered, please speak to your Sponsor or employer to book your Final Assessment. This will be carried out at an approved assessment centre. If you pass the Final Assessment, you will gain your ICI competence on your Sentinel card. Step 3: Take the Final Assessment When the delegates arrives to take the final assessment the invigilator will check the identity of each person and record their attendance to give access to the final assessment. (The Final Assessment should only be accessed at an approved assessment centre) Recording the delegate's results If the delegate has passed, we will update Sentinel to record that they have obtained their ICI competence. There is an 80% pass mark. If the delegate fails, they will have an opportunity to take the test again the same day.
