A SPOKEN WORD

Pawn II
Pawn/ Queen I
Drink only two drinks cause no one likes a drunk.

Laugh at his jokes even when they’re not funny.

Don’t sleep with him on the first date honey.
When I was nine, my mother told me,

“games are for children,”
Reach for the check but don’t ever pay.

mouth just the way he liked it.
An injection a day keeps the infidelity away.

I can’t remember when I started playing the

After ten years, we don’t recognize

as we are drafting out the divorce.

Because the rules have become so
over her relationship status
How about my friend dating the guy

that they became social norms.

And the girl starving herself at dinner time
But we continue to play until we are used,
because she’s worried about her weight.

And people like us are just muses of the love game.
