the age of 16 were issued in your police force area in total in the following periods
of time:
(a) Between1 April 2014 and 31 March 2015
(b) Between 1 April 2015 and 31 December 2015
2. How many of the total number of Child Abduction Warning Notices in question 1
were issued in cases where a child under the age of 16 was a Looked After Child in
the following periods of time:
(a) Between1 April 2014 and 31 March 2015
(b) Between 1 April 2015 and 31 December 2015
3. How many Child Abduction Warning Notices were issued in your police force
area in cases where a child was aged 16 or 17 and either in care of the Local
Authority or in police protection or on emergency protection order in the following
periods of time:
(a) Between1 April 2014 and 31 March 2015
(b) Between 1 April 2015 and 31 December 2015
The Crime Department have provided the following information:
Please note that the child abduction warning notices are stored on the Police National
Computer (PNC). Please note that once a notice has expired/previously issued and no
longer applicable, these are removed and therefore there is no longer any record on PNC.
Therefore the data below shows the number of notices issued under the Child Abduction
Act 1984, by year, which are still current/live.
1. How many Child Abduction Warning Notices in cases where a child was under
the age of 16 were issued in your police force area in total in the following periods
of time:
(a) Between1 April 2014 and 31 March 2015
(b) Between 1 April 2015 and 31 December 2015

2. How many of the total number of Child Abduction Warning Notices in question 1
were issued in cases where a child under the age of 16 was a Looked After Child in
the following periods of time:

For the purposes of this answer the figures are for those looked after by parental
(including foster) care (section 2) and not in local authority care (section 49).
