Bollywood Ball – A huge well done to Nicola and her team for a
fantastic ball this September. The night was a great success and
raised a fantastic £13,700! The dancers were great and the venue
looked fabulous. There were a lot of people getting in the
Bollywood spirit trying out the dances and dressing to impress. A
big thank you to those who bid on auction lots, bought raffle
tickets and purchased the children’s artwork.
Lottery – PLEASE return your lottery form (either stating that
you have set up the £1-a-week standing order, or with your bank
details for the PTA to set it up.) More forms are available at
williamgilbertpta.org. If we can get 50 people enrolled there will
be a £100 prize fund each month. Obviously the more people that
enrol, the better the prize fund will be, and the more we will raise
for the school.
School Disco – A big thank you to Rachael Fallows and her team for
organising and running the school disco. The children had a great night
as usual. I’m sure they’re looking forward to the next one already!
Movie Night – Following on from the ball success, Nic is
hoping to host a movie night for the children at school on
Friday 4th December, probably with two different showings for
infants and juniors. Date and times TBC. Watch this space!

Christmas Fayre – 20th November
Operation Christmas Child
You should have received a leaflet about
Operation Christmas Child. We have
contributed to this scheme for a few years
now and there is always a great response. If
you would like to create a shoebox gift,
please read the information carefully and
fill the box as directed. Please bring your
shoeboxes into school reception from
Monday 23rd November. Keep an eye on
the texts for the deadline date.
Help required
We are in need of people to serve drinks at
the following events. If you could help,
please contact a member of the PTA, your
class rep, or Jenny Sykes:

Come along and support our school at the
Christmas Fayre. There will be plenty of festive
fun to be had, including games and tombolas,
making reindeer food and visiting Santa, as well
as food, drink and lots of stalls.
Donations of good quality toys and books,
chocolate and bottles would be most
appreciated. Please leave in reception.
Please send cake donations in on the day.
Christmas Jumper or festive dress down
day – 18th December (last day of term)
This year, on the last day of school before
Christmas, there will be a Christmas
jumper/festive outfit day. For the cost of £1,
your child can come in their favourite festive
clothes. This can be anything from a Christmasthemed jumper to a Santa hat – the more
festive the better. There will be a prize for the
best festive outfit in three categories –
foundation stage, KS1 and KS2. There may be a
prize for the best teacher too!
Quiz Night – February
We are hoping to have a quiz night early in the
new year so get your teams together and your
quiz heads ready for a fun night. Date and
venue TBC.
8th December AM – KS1 rehearsal
16th December AM – Nursery Concert
