LINK and SEED Innovation Funding Program
Information for Applicants 2016
Background
In 2011, the SEED (support, explore, excel, deliver) program was created to assist staff across
Metro North Hospital and Health Service (MNHHS), develop, implement and evaluate
innovative ideas to improve health outcomes for patients. Since that time, it has demonstrated
the impact of innovation funding as a means to continuous improvement, a mechanism for
identifying staff led need, and an opportunity to develop a culture of innovation.
In 2015, SEED was replicated as LINK (leading innovation through networking and knowledge
sharing). The purpose of LINK was to build on the SEED concept by involving external partners
and together, develop and implement innovative ideas for health outcomes across the MNHHS.
SEED and LINK are supported administratively under the one program but they stand alone as
two separate funding opportunities.
SEED
SEED has a non-recurrent allocation of $1 million that is available, through an application
process, to all employees of Metro North Hospital and Health Service.
LINK
LINK has a non-recurrent allocation of $1 million that is available, through an application
process, to partnerships between Metro North Hospital and Health Service and external
partners invested in improving health outcomes for patients across Metro North.
