our biggest event of the season – the Northwest Territories
Territorial Squash Championships! We have had an incredibly
busy year with our ongoing renovations and look forward to
sharing our new deck space with you – let the sun shine!

Saturday, June 3rd
The snow has finally melted and that means it’s time to gear up for
the Territorial Squash Championships! Although I am only in my
first couple months here as RC Squash Pro, I have experienced
this event as one of the exhibition pros twice before. While the
past two Territorials were incredible, I have no doubt that this
year’s Territorials will be the best one yet.
Monday, May 29th

Tuesday, May 30th
We have four female and four male pros flying up from out of town
to compete in the exhibition category of the tournament. Our
returning pros are: Nikki Todd (SK), Alix Younger (MB), Jackie
Moss (AB), Thomas Brinkman (BC), and Justin Todd (SK). We have
three pros who are competing in our tournament for the first time:
Jaime Laird (AB), Jake Hooker (MB), and Thomas Blecher (ON).
Our local players competing with the pros in the exhibition event
are Ozzie Vallejos, Devin Madsen, Devin Hinchey, and myself. Make
sure to come out and watch some high level Canadian squash!

Finally, our brand new 2000 square foot deck will be an incredible
new addition to Territorials. There will be a ton of space, the best

store for us, and is definitely somewhere you’re going to want to
be the first weekend in June!

Welcome to the 2017 NWT Territorial Squash Championships
expertly orchestrated and hosted by the NWT’s premier squash
and fitness center, The Racquet Club.
Its been another great year. Our game continues to grow in Inuvik,
Fort Smith and Yellowknife. Our juniors continue to pursue
excellence; watch for them this weekend. Our adults are becoming
even more excellent, just ask them, they’ll tell you.
And while we are sad to be losing Ozzie to the south, we gratefully
acknowledge the passion and expertise he has brought to our
games. We welcome Melina, with her fervor and enthusiasm, to take
us all to the next level. Good luck this week, find your destiny.
