Learner Resource 2 – Cracking Cards Ltd Introduction In groups you need to make Christmas Cards using one of the methods of production. While doing this think about the benefits and drawbacks to these methods. Also think about how technology could help organise production. Cracking Cards Ltd (group 1 Flow Production) With Christmas approaching production needs to increase at your card factory. Before any commitments are made a trial run of a new Christmas design needs to be carried out to see if they satisfy the company directors. You need to set out a production line. Each stage of production is listed below and only one person can carry out any one task. You need to produce as many as possible without creating too much waste. Stages of production 1. Fold the card in half 2. Stick the tree in the middle 3. Write MERRY above the tree 4. Write CHRISTMAS below it. 5. Stick a Santa inside it 6. Write AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR under the Santa 7. Stick 3 silver stars in the top right inside corner 8. On the back write produced by Cracking Cards Ltd. After the time has gone quality control will check your goods to determine if they are suitable to sell to the public. Custom Cards Ltd (group 2 Job Production) With Christmas approaching production needs to increase at your card factory. Your firm specialises in handmade custom cards.
