New registration fees for rec players in 2015-16

New registration fees for rec players in 2015-16
Dear rec member:
We want to update you that, as a result of increasing insurance costs, registration fees for US Club Soccer recreation players
will incur an increase in the 2015-16 registration year, for registration commencing July 1, 2015.
You are receiving this notice well in advance of the next registration period, because we understand your concerns over the
effect any fee increases may have on your rec program.
As you may be aware, a class-action lawsuit on concussion-related issues was filed in August 2014 against FIFA, U.S. Soccer,
USYS, Cal North, US Club Soccer and AYSO. The threat of class action and other concussion-related lawsuits has caused
insurance companies to either drop out of writing soccer liability insurance altogether or dramatically increase premiums.
Because of this, the immediate impact on US Club Soccer is a substantial increase in our insurance costs, which took effect
January 1, 2015.
While this situation may affect various U.S. Soccer members at different times, insurance costs are increasing throughout the
sport. The US Club Soccer registration fee increase is based solely on increased insurance costs.
We realize registration costs are important to you, and in an effort to keep those fees as low as possible, rec players and super
rec players will see a registration increase of $2 per player. Staff of rec players – without a passcard – will continue to pay $5
per member.
US Club Soccer remains committed to the highest standard of player safety and overall member experience.
The 2015-16 rec-related fees are as follows:
Category:
Player – Rec (no passcard)
Player – Super Rec
Staff – Rec (no passcard)
Fee:
$10
$12
$5 (No increase)
If you have further questions, please feel free to contact your respective membership services representative.
Sincerely,
US Club Soccer
