Cheylin Cougar boys resume
playing ball after long break

Jan. 6
The Cheylin boy’s basketball
team traveled to Grinnell to resume
their season after the long holiday
break. They started off strong in the
first quarter, but fell behind in the
second half.
“The boys shot poorly from the
field,” Coach Clayton Janicke said.
“We were less than 10 percent in the
first half. We shot very well from the
free throw line in the first half
though. We were 16/18. Half time
score was 21-21.
“We made a few shots in the
second half but our free throws
went away. If we could have gotten our shooting lined out, the
game may have had a different
ending. Josh Moyer had a pretty
good game.”

The Cougars had a rough start to
the tournament with a heavy defeat
against Wheatland.
“This was a poorly played
game,” Coach Janicke said. “We
had several players out of town
over the weekend, and I’m not
sure they were back yet. We also
had some sickness setting in. As
a result, we really didn’t do anything well.
“We shot poorly, passed poorly,
rebounded poorly, and we were a
step slow on defense. We gave ourselves no chance to win.”

Cheylin returned to tournament
play on Saturday with everyone
lined out and ready for action. They
played strong all the way through.
“We started out very well in this
game,” Coach Janicke said. “We hit
three 3-pointers in the first quarter
and five in the first half. We were up
14 points going into the fourth quarter.
“They had a little run at us in the
last stanza, but we remained patient
and played within ourselves. We
also made 5-of-6 free throws in the
fourth quarter.
“As bad as we played against
Wheatland is how well we played
Triplains. We looked like two completely different teams.”

fans will need to turn out to give lots

Local diners have a new choice of
where to eat. The Haigler Cafe has
opened.
Owners Raul and Cathy Wolf, of
Wray, are operating the restaurant
located just 25 minutes north of St.
Francis.
The Haigler Cafe is open seven
days a week and has a large variety
of items on the menu. Breakfast is
served all day.
“We’re like a Denny’s,” Mr. Wolf
said. “You can have breakfast any
time.”
Senior meals are also featured at
the restaurant. The senior menu has
one Mexican selection as well as
several continental choices. The
meal includes a choice of fruit or
juice and choice of coffee, tea or 2percent milk. The price is $3.50 for
guests 60-years-old or above.
Mr. Wolf grew up in Mexico City
and serves authentic Mexican
dishes.
“We have some Mexican meals
for breakfast, lunch and dinner,” Mr.
Wolf said.
Mr. and Mrs. Wolf are not new to
the restaurant business. They have
run the Riverside Restaurant in
Wray for several years. Their children are running the Wray restaurant while the parents put their energy into the Haigler location.
Along with the full Mexican
menu and daily specials, the cafe
offers pancakes, waffles, French
toast and omelets for breakfast.
Lunch features sandwiches, burgers
and open-faced sandwiches. Dinner
items include chicken fried steaks,
grilled chicken and hamburger
steaks. Lighter meals are available
for any ages.
Following the meal, the Haigler
Cafe has a variety of desserts.

“Hemorrhoids? Here’s what my doctor recommended.”
When I first heard about Hemcure - the painless non-surgical hemorrhoid cure
- I was skeptical.
So I asked my family doctor about it. He said Hemcure was a treatment
method performed by M.D.’s that would solve my hemorrhoid problem, instead
of just treating the symptoms.
I decided to go ahead with it, and you know what? Hemcure really worked,
without disrupting my schedule. And my insurance covered it. If you have hemorrhoids, don’t suffer. Do yourself a favor and call to find out more.
