UniversityofOulusupportscommercializationofresearchw ithso-calledProof-of-Concept(PoC)funding.Thisisthethirdyearw henfundingisavailable.TheUniversitygrantedin2015and2016,atotal
of200000eurosin12differentideas.Intheseprojectssolutionse.g.forthemeasurementofblood
pressure,diagnosisofosteoarthritis,andconstructionof5G-pilotenvironmenttoTellusInnovation
Arenaw eredeveloped.
PoC-fundingaimstomakethefirstimplementationofanideai.e.theverificationoftheinitial
implementation.Withthesupportoffundingcanbeshow n,forexample,experimentallythatthe
proposedsolutionw orksasplannedandthereismarketneedforit.Thefundingaimstopromotethe
commercializationofresearchresultsandgeneratenew business.
TheaimisthatafterPoC-fundingitispossibletogetothergrantse.g.TekesTUTLI(New businessfrom
researchresults)forfurtherdevelopmentorstartdirectlynew business.
