This role will also provide guidance to the Program Development Team. Selection Criteria Essential 1. Understanding of, and commitment to, person-centered and strengths based practices. 2. Relevant qualifications in community services or equivalent experience. 3. Proven experience in developing new programs and/or community development. 4. An understanding of community development models, in particular Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). 5. Experience in the disability sector and knowledge of the NDIS. 6. Demonstrated ability to guide a team. 7. Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets. 8. Proven rapport and relationship building with a diverse range of stakeholders. 9. Exceptional interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills. 10. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 11. Able to manage own time effectively. 12. Ability to work flexible hours, dependent on work requirements. 13. Ability to follow policies and procedures and implement quality processes. 14. Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, work health and safety requirements. 15. Current driver’s license. 16. Current First Aid Certificate. 17. A current Working with Children Check. Desirable: 18. Knowledge of the Illawarra area and community trends. OVERVIEW OF DUTIES 1. Service Delivery Undertake market research and analysis, including active engagement with clients, to understand the gaps and opportunities that exist. Engage clients and the community in meaningful dialogue, including through social media, to achieve optimal outcomes for all. Identify, develop, scope and implement viable programs/events/activities. Prepare business tactics which outline in detail the proposed program/event/activity including the rationale, expected outcomes and benefits, associated risks, resources, costings, marketing and implementation. Oversee the recruitment, training and rostering of a team of casual Program Workers and Volunteers responsible for facilitating the programs/events/activities. Manage allocated budgets associated with 2. Organisational Responsibilities the establishment and management of programs/events/activities. Investigate and secure external funding through grants and/or sponsorship where possible. Ensure that programs/events/activities are delivered in a person centred and strengths based manner, and which respect the client’s individual and cultural needs. Identify and develop opportunities for partnerships with a range of organisations and stakeholders. Prepare relevant reports regarding programs/events/activities. Provide guidance to the Program Development Team to ensure effective planning, implementation and evaluation of programs/events/activities. Generate a sense of ownership and empowerment by the Program Development Team and broader community to develop local initiatives to benefit clients and the community. Facilitate the achievement of outcomes of clients and the broader community. Maintain accurate and up to date client records. Work collaboratively and build strong and productive working relationships with all stakeholders, including other team members. Ensure adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements. Undertake additional duties as required by the organisation. Communicate and act in ways that demonstrate the values, vision and mission of Community Gateway. Contribute positively to the operations of Community Gateway and the realisation of its Strategic Plan and policies and procedures. Display a commitment to applying work procedures and practices in line with the Code of Conduct. Actively contribute to the management of Community Gateway through team meetings, supervision, continuous quality improvement activities and other tasks as required.
