o Please refer to the GPRC Student Wellness Intramurals Policy Manual https://www.gprc.ab.ca/students/wellness/intramural_sports/policies.html

Bubble Balls MUST be properly secured to your body using the tie-straps inside the ball. This is for
your own safety as well as the safety of others.

When Indoors, Bubble Balls must remain in the Gymnasium – they do not fit through standard
door frames
Playing Rules:

Appropriate indoor, closed-toed footwear shoes must be worn at all times during competition.
Shin pads and knee pads are HIGHLY recommended.

All jewelry must be removed and irremovable jewelry must be covered and secured. No large
belt buckles allowed while using bubble balls.


Participants must wear a proper T-Shirt (NO tank tops or muscle shirts)

Teams must have a minimum of four (4) players including one (1) player of the opposite gender on
the court within ten (10) minutes of the scheduled start time to avoid a forfeit. Forfeits will be
recorded as a 5-0 loss.


Games will consist of two (2) 10 minute halves – run time with a three (3) minute half-time break.

Goal Keepers ARE NOT designated, meaning if you wish to have one of your teammates stand in
front of the goal that is acceptable.
Teams must have a minimum of four (4) and a maximum of six (6) players on the field including
one (1) team member of the opposite gender.
KICK-OFF – The Ball will be placed at centre court and teams will line up along the goal line. Once
the referee blows the whistle, teams may run to the ball for possession. This occurs every time a
goal is scored.

PENALTY KICKS – Penalty Kicks are given at the discretion of the ref. If players are playing in an
overly aggressive manner, then a penalty kick will be awarded to the opposing team.


OFFSIDE – No Offside rules will be applied to this particular competition.

CONTACT BETWEEN BUBBLE BALLS – It is forbidden to hit a player from behind, or to aim the
bubble at another’s legs. Any illegal contact will result in a warning, and a penalty shot against the
opposing team by the wronged player.
o It is also forbidden to fiercely go at a player who is not wearing a ball, or a player who is
down on the ground trying to get up; player must be on both feet before they can be
bumped again. You must play the ball and follow the game.

HYGIENE – After each game, you must clean your bubble ball (out of respect for those who will
use the bubble ball next). The Fitness Centre staff will provide you with cleaning supplies. This only
takes you a few seconds. Thank you for your cooperation on this!
If the soccer ball lands inside a bubble ball, play will stop immediately and the ball will be
retrieved. The Referee will then conduct a ‘drop ball’ with one member from each team.
