Located within the hub of Auckland’s Mt Eden village the historic Mt Eden Post Office was
originally built in 1886. It was converted into De Post Belgium Beer Cafe in 2000 and has been a
very popular destination since.
With its captivating décor and antique memorabilia sourced from original Belgian pubs and cafes,
De Post offers a truly unique atmosphere. Enticing menus showcasing traditional Belgian pub
cuisine a large selection of Belgian Beers and award winning New Zealand wines is what awaits
you.
Whether you would like to have relaxed party, a big celebration such as a wedding or engagement
or anything in between, we can look after you. If you’re looking for a nook of your own, exclusive
use of our lovely upstairs balcony room, or even the entire first floor we’re flexible and love to help
make your occasion perfect.

be more than happy to suggest a particular area that will best suit your occasion and budget.

Balcony Room & small Courtyard
Max 80 Cocktails - Max 50 Dining
Our balcony room is available for a variety of functions, it is ideal for small groups as we can
arrange an area within this room or alternatively it is perfect for private use. (A minimum spend
only applies for private use)
This lovely room is fitted throughout with dark wood panels and includes a 42” screen. Our small
outdoor courtyard is perfect for summer BBQ’s or to enjoy the view of Mount Eden and the lovely
established palm trees and greenery.
Entire First Floor
Max 100 Cocktails - Max 70 Dining
This area is idea for larger groups and includes use of the Chimay Bar, Balcony Room & Small
outdoor Courtyard. (A minimum spend only applies for private use)
Chimay Bar - First Floor
Max 40 Cocktails - Max 30 Dining
Whilst we can accommodate 30 for dining, due to the layout of this bar,
our tables will vary in numbers.

General Function Information
Costs
We do not charge for hire, however, we will require a minimum spend for exclusive use of either the
balcony room or the entire first floor. The minimum spend required will depend on the evening in
question and is made up of what you and your guests spend on food and beverage throughout the
evening. This minimum spend information is available on request.
Music, Presentations & Decorations
With exclusive use of an area you can decorate as you wish. You are also welcome to plug in an
ipod, USB stick or laptop into our system. Our manager will also be happy to offer some
suggestions on live music options for your event.
Cocktail & Dining Menus
Our finger food and dining options may be viewed separately on our website. If you have any
particular requests, our chef and manager will be more than happy to oblige.
General Information
Whether you’re looking at full dining, drinks and nibbles or a summer BBQ, if you have a theme
in mind we can make it happen. Please feel free to talk to our manager about your individual
requirements, budget and tastes. All functions can be tailor made to best suit your requirements
