Annual Giving Campaign
The YMCA’s goal is to not turn away anyone
due to inability to pay.
In 2012 the YMCA of Central KY awarded a
little over $1.4 million in financial aid
scholarships to youth, teens, and families
in Fayette, Jessamine, and Scott
Counties.

Game Plan and Preparation
• Player rotation or system that is fair.
• Players should be rotating positions in all
leagues (with the exception of tournament
play).
• Knowledge of rules (included in your
packet)

Picture Day
• October 3rd is outdoor sports picture day
• Basketball Picture Day is October 17th
• Parents will want to arrive 30 minutes
early in order to start games timely.
• Pictures that are purchased will be mailed
to the player’s home.

Inclement Weather Procedure
• PRACTICE CANCELLATIONS are up to the
COACHES. Please contact your team in the
case of cancelling and the Y in order to schedule
a make up practice if desired.
• Y staff will notify coaches as soon as possible on
GAME CANCELLATIONS. Cancellations will
also be posted on the Y Facebook Page

To Remember:
• Practices will begin the week of Aug 31 for
soccer. Games begin September 12th.
There will be no practices the week of
October 5th
• Please contact your parents as soon as
possible to introduce yourself and inform
them of their practice day and time. First
time contact should be a phone call.
• Game schedules will be emailed out to
parents. There is also a copy in your
packet
Snack Schedules
Encourage Healthy Snacks
• Players should bring water to practices
and games. Encourage water over sugary
drinks.
• Encourage parents to bring snacks like
fruits, veggie packs, crackers.

Coaches
• All Games and Practices will be held at Grace Christian
Church located at 1648 Lexington Rd.
• All soccer players will need to come with a soccer ball,
cleats, and shin guards.
• T-Ball Coaches will be provided with a bag of 4 helmets
and 5 T-Balls. Parents are asked to provide a glove. I
would suggest they bring a hat the first couple of weeks
until their team hats are handed out.
• Jerseys will be handed out on the day of the first games,
unless they arrive early, then they will be available at the
Y office for you to pick up and hand out at practice.
• Players will be given the size as noted on the team
roster, regardless of fit so that everyone receives the
size they requested.

To help you with your season, we’ve provided concise elearning lessons that contain education on the
philosophy of YMCA Youth Sports, basic coaching
techniques that include practice plans, skills, drills, rules
and tactics of the sport, and valuable volunteer
resources.
Certificates of completion can be printed at the end of each session.
