All pupils are the responsibility of the
teachers, staff and designated parent
helpers from their own primary school
throughout the duration of the event
Pupils should stay in small groups to
visit facilities i.e. toilets and be
accompanied by a member of staff or
designated person from their school.
Designated meeting points will be
identified and communicated.
The school will hold emergency
contact details for each attending
child.
The event will be held under the
control of the School Games Event
Management Team and Basketball in
the Community.
The officials and helpers recruited by
Basketball in the Community and the
Event Management Team will
supervise the competition areas.

Participating school staff to ensure
pupils have suitable kit, footwear &
equipment for participating in an
indoor event
All jewellery should be removed before
pupils compete.
Pupils should have sufficient water
and snack foods to consume when not
competing.
Pre-event communication to outline
what PPE is required.
All venue equipment used is the
responsibility of Easton College Sports
Centre and are deemed safe within
their risk assessment. Any problems
should be reported to appropriate
members of staff via the Event
Management Team.
Appropriate equipment will be used for
the age group. Suitable sized ball and
hoop height will be used in
accordance with England Basketball
guidelines. The Event Management
Team and Basketball in the
Community will check all equipment
being used is suitable.

Staff to check pupils wear appropriate
clothing for prevailing weather
conditions.
In severe weather conditions affecting
transport to the venue the event will be
cancelled by the Event Management
Team.
In the event of an emergency Event
Management Team will implement
procedures outlined in event safety
plan.
Attendees will meet at agreed and
communicated assembly point
School staff will take a register of
pupils.
