GAUGE: 7 sts = 2”; 3 rows = 1”.CHECK YOUR GAUGE.
Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
BALL ORNAMENT
First Half
With A, ch 4; join with a slip st in form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 1, 8 sc in ring; join with a slip st in first sc –
8 sc.
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around; join – 16 sc.
Round 3: Ch 1, *sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat
from * around; join with a slip st in first sc – 20 sc.
Round 4: Ch 1, *sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc; repeat
from * around; join with a slip st in first sc – 24 sc.
Round 5: Ch 1, sc in each sc around; join with a slip st in
first sc. Fasten off.
Second Half
Work same as First Half. Do not fasten off at end of Round
5; ch 32 for hanging loop, slip st in first ch. Fasten off.
Weave in ends.
FINISHING
Place 2 halves over styrofoam ball. Beginning at the hanging
loop, whipstitch halves together through the front loops of sts
in last round with the ribbon; tie ends into a bow.
