I would like to invite you to enter your youth teams into the above event.
This competition is intended to firstly give all the teams in the South of Scotland
the opportunity to compete for the areas U-14 and U-17 6-a-side Championships.
Secondly this competition will give the area squad coaches a final chance to see
individuals capabilities before making their final selections for the U-14 and U-17
squads that will play against the North on the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of
October.
In order to aid your preparation for the event, this information pack has been put
together for your benefit. Please read through it and if you have any questions
then please don’t hesitate to contact myself on the numbers provided.

We welcome new teams to enter so players that don’t have an official team to
play with can enter under any team name as long as all the players in that team
are members of the Camanachd Association.
The draw and order of play will be compiled and distributed prior to the event,
when all entries are in.
I hope it is a great day and that players can play to their full potential to impress
the area coaches.

Terms & Conditions
1. The tournament will be played on Sunday 5th September 2010 at Mossfield
Stadium, Oban.
2. The cost of entry to the tournament shall be £10.00 per team. This is payable to
the “Camanachd Association” and should be returned with the entry form.
3. Play will commence at 11.00am, with teams asked to arrive at 10.30am to allow
the competition to start on time.
4. The Tournament is a 6-a-side event with a maximum of two substitutes allowed.
5. The format of the Tournament will be round robin leagues proceeding to a
knockout competition to determine the winner.
7. Teams are asked to bring their own strips (If two teams have strip colours that
clash then bibs will be provided)
8. There will be no provision of first aid at the tournament, so teams are asked to
have adequate and appropriate cover in the event of an injury to a player.
9. There will be a limited provision of food and drink at the venue so teams are
asked to bring their own packed lunches.
10. The Camanachd Association do not accept responsibility for injury or death
howsoever caused during the tournament, responsibility is also not accepted for
loss or theft of property
11. All participating teams must complete and return the entry form along with
entry fee by Monday 30th August 2010.
12. The organising committee have the final say on all rulings relating to any part of
the competition

Rules of Play
1. Number of Players
The team will consist of 8 members, 6 of whom will be on the pitch at any one
time
2. Substitutes
Substitutes are rolling, i.e. can be changed as many times as the coach deems
necessary
3. Starting the Game
The game shall be started by the referee throwing the ball up in the centre spot
between opposing players. After a goal the game shall be restarted in a like
manner
4. Time of Games
All league games, plus the 3rd/4th play-off shall be 6 minutes each way. The
semi-finals and the final shall be 8 minutes each way.
In the knockout stage in the event of a tie, 4 minutes extra time each way, with
the golden goal rule in place (i.e. first team to score in that period wins) shall
be used. (Timing of games are subject to change depending on the numbers
of team that enter each section of the tournament.)
If still equal then each team will nominate 3 penalty takers and a goalkeeper in
a penalty shoot out, if still equal after the statutory 3 penalties then sudden
death penalties with the same penalty takers and goalkeeper and same order
will decide the outcome.
5. Offside
As per Camanachd Association rules i.e no attacking player can enter the “D”
area prior to the ball.

7. Disciplinary Action
Any player who commits a bookable offence under the Camanachd
Association rules or as stated earlier will be sin-binned for 2 minute’s.
Any player being ordered off will take no further part in the finals.
8. Sportsmanship
Any player not adhering to the codes of conduct and for example throwing
their caman after the game, or verbally abusing opponents or team mates both
during or after a game will subsequently be booked and therefore be sinbinned for a 2 minute period effective immediately or when that team play
next.
Although competitive the finals should be played in a true spirit of
sportsmanship and friendly rivalry between teams, please help us achieve this
9. League Scoring System
The top two teams from each section will go through to the semi finals.
The scoring system is as follows:
2 points per win
1 point per draw
0 points per lose
In the event of a tie at the end of all league games then goal difference will
count, and if still equal then goals for will count and if still equal then a 4
minute play-off game will decide who goes through.
Any matter arising and not covered by the rules will be dealt with by the
organising committee.
