Ken Balcombe R.I.P. Holy Communion Preparation Parents should have received an email offering them a choice of dates for their Children’s First Communion Mass. If you have not replied, please log onto the Website or contact Fr. Tony. All the children will be formally enrolled in the Programme at the Sunday Masses on January 15th in the same church you have chosen for the First Communion. Please keep the 140 families in your prayers. Confirmation Today at the 5:30pm Mass we will enrol our candidates for Confirmation which will be administered by Bishop Richard on Saturday 27th May at 3pm in the Friary. Our next session on the Most Holy Eucharist will be held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven at 4pm on Sunday 15th January. Please remember to return your permission slips for the Bishop's gathering and Flame to the parish office ASAP. A heads up to the community at St Edward the Confessor, we will be coming to you on Sunday 12th February. Marriage If you are planning on getting married, please make an appointment to see one of the clergy team (priest or deacon) as soon as possible to begin your paperwork and more importantly your preparation. Ordinarily Bishop Richard asks that couples take at least 12 months to prepare for this beautiful sacrament. Journey in Faith The sessions recommenced on 4th January and will continue each Wednesday at 7:30pm at St Bernadette’s Presbytery. Blessing of Married Couples This will take place at 12:15 Mass on Saturday 11th February (nearest St. Valentine’s Day). The Joy of Love Fr. Chris is leading a study course on Pope Francis' recent document Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love) on Thursdays 7pm at St Bernadette's Presbytery. All welcome. Course concludes with Blessing of Married Couples. Catholic Bible Study Groups: ‘Discovery’ Following a very fruitful Alpha Course groups will continue to meet fortnightly using a Bible Study resource called ‘Discovery’. All are welcome. How to bring our Parishes from Maintenance to Mission DABCEC has organised a one day course on Saturday 21 January from 10am4pm, at DABCEC Crawley. Guest Speaker: Michael Roche (Alpha in a Catholic Context). He will explore how we can make our parishes more responsive to the call of the New Evangelisation. He will draw on lessons from the “Divine Renovation" books. These make suggestions as to how we might change the culture within our Parishes, so as to create the right conditions for Evangelisation to take place.
