
Students will follow a recommended ‘pathway’ of
study.

The pathway recommended will be based on a number
of factors including student attainment and effort.

There are 3 pathways however there will be flexibility
within each pathway.


Double Science

The Foundation Programme
This consists of :

Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE)

Physical Education (P.E.)

Religious Education (R.E.)
Pathway 1
Students following this pathway will follow

A flexible learning programme giving them an
opportunity to follow a range of vocational
level 1 courses offered by West Herts College or a
mutually agreed work experience option

A choice of two further courses from the ‘free option’
block
Pathway 2
Students following this pathway will follow a

Choice of history or geography

Design and technology (food, graphic products, resistant
materials, textiles) selecting from their current choices

Plus a choice of 2 courses from the ‘free option’ block
Pathway 3
Students following this pathway will study

Design and technology (food, graphic products,
resistant materials, textiles) Selection from their
current choices

A modern foreign language

A choice of 2 further courses from the ‘free
option’ block.

Year 9 Parent Consultation Evening and
Option talk.
Friday 28th January until Wed 8th February
Mr Dodd, Mrs Wright (careers) and Mrs Jennings available
to answer any further questions
Friday 10th March 2017 deadline for choices forms to
be returned to form tutors.
