Country Director, Save the Children US, Hanoi, Vietnam
Directed, supervised and oversaw all aspects of program development,
strategic and operational planning, management and administration for
Save the Children’s Vietnam program
Oversaw the growth of the program from a small scale community based
program to a national stakeholder and leader in Maternal Child Health,
Newborn Health, Adolescent Reproductive Health, Early Childhood Care
and Development, Micro-Finance, HIV and Emergency Preparedness and
Response. Cultivated strategic partnerships with MOH, MOET, the State
Bank of Vietnam, UN Agencies, emerging local NGOs and other domestic
and international institutions
Developed new national and provincial scale health, nutrition and
education initiatives with funding support from USAID, the Royal
Netherlands government, the Atlantic Philanthropies, the World Bank, the
Gates Foundation, and other funding institutions. Overall annual program
funding grew more than 300% during my 6 years of leadership.
Engineered the expansion of the Save the Children Vietnam team from 17
to 45 staff members and from one to 4 offices and sub-offices around the
country.
Served for 2 years (2004-2006) as representative of the INGO community
in Vietnam on the Health Partnership Group co-chaired by MOH and
WHO; member of Vietnam’s Reproductive Health Affinity Group and the
related Safe Motherhood and Newborn Care Working Group.

Directed a total staff of 90 personnel working in 3 regions of Haiti.

year olds under VCPFC’s coordination and oversight.

from free to commercialized condom distribution systems on various
vulnerable populations, including commercial sex workers, business

Designed and supervised the introduction of condom social marketing into
ongoing program activities of a Haitian factory-based NGO

PSI’s “Pante” brand condom to enable PSI to evaluate the effect of its
