PRE-GAME THROWING ROUTINE
ALL PLAYERS
ALL PLAYERS
1) Rundowns – 3 Lines – 90 ft
a) Ball out and up, no pump fakes
b) Run as hard as you can
c) Receiver is slowly creeping, flashes hand
and glove when he wants the ball
d) Follow your throw but peel out of baseline
2) 5’s
3) One-Knee Glove Pinch – 1 minute
4) One-Knee Catapult – 1 minute

OUTFIELDERS
1) 60 ft - Groundball position (ball in glove)
a) 2 minutes
b) Transfer, step in front, left, throw
c) Receiver – double play turn as 2B
2) 75 ft – Groundballs same as above
a) 2 minutes
b) Follow throws
3) 90 ft – Backhands and Forehands
a) 2 minutes
b) Receiver – double play turns as a SS
4) 120 ft – Shuffle, shuffle, throw, follow
a) 2 minutes
b) Reciever – Relay man
i) Hands up, catch it on glove side,
transfer w/ arm fake
5) Max Distance on a line w/ one hop
a) 2 minutes
b) Crow Hop, Throw, Follow
c) Receiver – Tags
6) Quick Catch – 10 in a row
a) Team must be perfect
1) 60 ft – Routine Groundball position (ball in
glove)
a) 2 minutes
b) Transfer, step in front, left, throw
c) Receiver – Relay Man w/ hands up
2) 75 ft – Non Routine Groundballs
a) 2 minutes
b) Crow Hops, Throw, Follow
3) 90 ft – Fly Ball Perfects
a) 2 minutes
b) Work through the ball
c) Receiver – Relay Man
4) 120 ft – Fly Ball Get Behinds
a) 2 minutes
b) Work around the ball, come through
c) Receiver – Relay man
i) Hands up, catch it on glove side,
transfer w/ arm fake
5) Max Distance on a line w/ one hop
a) 2 minutes
b) Crow Hop, Throw, Follow
c) Receiver – Tags
6) Quick Catch – 10 in a row
a) Team must be perfect
Should not take more than 15 minutes if done right!
