Spring Sports!! If you will be doing a spring sport, stop by the Athletic Office today to check on your eligibility!
Even if you’ve already played a sport this year, you MUST come to see if you are still eligible to play. All paperwork
for spring sports is due by February 6th. If you have to get an updated physical, set the appointment NOW! Lp

French Club meeting today. There will be games, movies, food and soda AND we will probably be shooting our

Mountain Bike club will have a meeting after school today at 2:10 in room 210 to discuss scheduling and clinic. ed
Builders of Unity: There will be a meeting on Friday, after school. Information on the Chinese New Year field trip
(Chinatown) will be reviewed. bp
OTHER NEWS:
There will be an upcoming Drill Meet Competition by our very own NJROTC at Curtis high School (held at the Jr.
High) this Saturday, February 2nd. There will be a total of 11 schools competing for the #1 spot. Competition will
start at 7:30am. Here’s our chance to show our NJROTC support and pride!!
Seniors, don’t forget that starting on Jan 1st you were able to start filling out and filing your FAFSA!! The website

THINKING OF OLYMPIC COLLEGE? Many of you took the field trip form to go on the field trip to see specific
programs at OC….only 16 of you have returned the form! If you want to go on the field trip, pick up a permission
slip and return it to the CAREER CENTER by THE END OF THE DAY TODAY!! db
The Port Orchard Yacht Club has THREE $1500 scholarships available for graduating seniors pursuing post high
school education at a community college, university or vocational school. Pick up your application in the Career
Center today! Applications are due Tuesday, April 16, 2013. se
The ACCUPLACER test will be given at SKHS after school (2:15pm in our library) on February 12th. Seniors have
priority, limit of 55 test-takers. By February 8th, pay $20 in the ASB office. AN OC STUDENT ID# IS
REQUIRED TO TAK E THE TEST. At least a week before the test, go online to OC’s website and register. You
will be emailed your Student ID#. Bring your Student ID# with you to the test. The test is for seniors, and NOT
FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN RUNNING START. Prospective RS students need to register for
the test online, and take the test at OC’s campus (or TCC in Gig Harbor). db
Sophomores and Juniors who are interested in ROTC or the Academies should plan to attend the Kitsap County
Regional ROTC / Academy Night 2013 THIS EVENING - Thursday, January 31st, at 6:45 p.m. in the Central Kitsap
High School Theater. Representatives from each of the military branches will be in attendance to answer
questions. Topics will include the application and nomination processes for academies and ROTC, and
