Clue
• These are tasks that both/all
team members must work
together to complete.
Detour
• A Detour presents the team with
a decision between two tasks,
each with its own pros & cons.
• Often, one task may seen easy
but involves some sort of extra
work, while the other may seem
difficult, but in the end may be
the easier choice.

U-Turn
• After completing their Detour
option, a team may use their UTurn ability to force another
team to backtrack and complete
the Detour option they did not
previously complete.
• Only one team may use a U-Turn
during a leg of the race.

Road Block
• A Road Block is a task that only one
team member may perform.
• Once a team member has been
selected, they cannot switch.
• Partners may only supply words or
encouragement, not help.
• Partners that are not participating
must stand with the host and wait
for their teammate to finish.

Check-In Mat
• Teams complete the race by
stepping onto the Check-In Mat.
• The host (Media Specialist) will
check each team’s work.
• If a team has failed to do a task that
they can correct, the host will tell
them that they must complete the
task before they can check in.
• If the team cannot correct a task or
has accumulated penalties, they
will be asked to wait out the
penalty time before they can checkin.
Check-In Mat
• The first team to complete all the
tasks in the Amazing Race will
win a fabulous prize!
