What is Day Service?
What is Castleview Day Services like?
Day Service provides day care for older
people aged 65 and over.
It offers a homely therapeutic environment.
We aim to help and support our service
users to remain in their own homes and to
be part of their wider community.
Whilst at Castleview Day Services we aim to
promote:

Our Objectives are:

To assist people to remain in their
own home
To promote social stimulation and
prevent isolation
To provide a source for social care
and health
To promote the maintenance of daily
living skills
To contribute to rehabilitation
To provide specialist care for people
with cognitive impairment
To provide support and information
carers
Castleview is compact but light and airy. It is
on the ground floor and has easy access for
less able people and wheelchair users.
Handrails and pull cords are provided in the
toilets for people with poor mobility.
The main sitting area is a pleasant room which
is also used for activities. There is a quiet
relaxation room which is also used for activities
as well as a games room. There is a dining
room and kitchen where lunch is served.
Castleview is currently open Monday to Friday
9.00 am to 4.30 pm.

Activities
We offer a wide range of person centred
therapeutic activities, which you can participate
in. These include:





Quizzes and games
Life stories and reminiscence
Chair exercises to music
Arts and crafts
Cooking
Meals
We offer a nutritious menu with choices
available for each meal.
Individual
dietary requirements are catered for.
Light snacks and refreshments are also
available throughout the day.
How Can I access Castleview Day
Service?
Referrals for Day Services can be made
by contacting your Social Services
Office. GP’s and other health care
professionals can also make referrals.
Following your initial referral you will
receive community care assessment to
identify your individual needs. If this
states that you require Day Services, a
member of staff from Castleview Day
Services will contact you when a place
becomes available.
The staff will arrange to visit you at
home and can also organise a visit to
the Day Service. Should you decide to
attend you will be offered suitable days.
How do I get there?
Transport may be provided if required, your
Single Shared Assessment will identify
whether you require transport to and from
the Day Centre.
However, your own
preferred method of transport may be more
suitable for your individual needs.
