Announcements
April 27, 2016 – B day
If you have barrowed clothes from the PE department please return
them. If any seniors would like to donate their PE clothes we will
take them! Thank you.
The IRC closes Monday, May 9th for inventory. Please return all
books by that date. IRC fines are due on Monday, May 16th for all
students. The IRC deadline for Seniors is Friday, March 6th for all
IRC books and fines.
SENIORS!!!
Due to the end of the year being so hectic, we must move
graduation practice to Thursday 5/12. Practice will begin at 8:25am
and end around 9:30am, in the Jr. High gym. Breakfast for seniors
will begin at 8am on Thursday as well.
JUNIORS: If you are interested in running for a class officer position next year,
please let Mrs. Frese or Mrs. Litchfield know by Friday. The forms are due back to
them on Wednesday, May 4th.
Roy Dean Perry Scholarship is still available for senior baseball and
softball players. You must have a 21 on your ACT to apply! Please
see Ms. Triplett!
NHS Honor Cords can still be purchased this week for $9!!
SENIORS!! It is time to get your lunch and IRC fines paid ASAP!!
Don’t forget that Paw Day is coming up on April 29th and you need to be on
time to class, attend school, and have no more than one detention. You must
also be passing your classes the week of Paw Day, or you will spend Paw Day
in study hall! There will be fun activities and good food! We hope you will join

“CAN” CANCER CHALLENGE
From Monday, April 25 through Monday, May 2, please donate to the Central Mini-Relay in
your homeroom “can”. Mini-Relay donations are given to local community members undergoing
cancer treatment and the American Cancer Society. Feel free to ask your parents,
neighbors, and friends for donations. After Mini-Relay on May 4, the CHS homeroom that
collects the most funds per student through the “CAN” Challenge will be awarded a pizza
party. Together we CAN make a difference!
2015-2016 Yearbook is on sale for $45. Take advantage of this deal because
the price will go up on April 29th! See Mrs. Spath for an order form TODAY!!
PROM INFORMATION
Prom is on April 30th from 8-11 pm. It is being held at the State Room in
Quincy. The address is 434 S 8th St, Quincy, IL 62301. Promenade will
begin at 4:00 pm. Students if you plan to attend please be there by 3:30
Saturday afternoon.
Lifetouch will not be at Prom this year, and you will be responsible for
taking your own pictures. If you have any questions or issues with this,
please see Mrs. Spath.
Baccalaureate Information
Parent Choir for Baccalaureate will practice on the 28th at 7pm
in the old band room.
Baccalaureate service will be held Sunday, May 8th at 7:00 p.m. We are
asking each student to attend and would like for each student to submit no
more than 4 family pictures for a slideshow. Pictures can be emailed to Mr.
Brassfield at [email protected]. Pictures are needed by April 15th.
Anyone interested in detasseling this summer? Pick up an informational
packet outside the HS office!
STUDENTS: If you drive to school, you must have a permit visible in your car! If you do
not have one, please stop by the HS office to pick up a form.
Reminder for the ladies - with the warm weather approaching, please wear appropriate clothing to school.
Handbook states: Shorts must have an inseam of 5” or more. Straps on shirts must be three fingers
wide and both shoulders need to have a strap. Yoga pants may not be worn unless a shirt or sweater is
worn over them. The shirt or sweater must be finger- tip length. You will be asked to change
if you are not dressed appropriately! This rule will be strictly enforced!
Mobile Dentist will be here May 3rd! Forms are outside the HS
office!
The Central Mini-Relay Committee is promoting the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program
again this year on Mini-Relay Day, May 4. Through the simple act of generosity of eight
inches of hair, you could help Pantene provide real-hair wigs for women who are suffering
from hair loss due to cancer treatment. So those of you, students and staff, with long hair,
please be considering donating 8 inches of hair. Local hair dressers will be donating their
time to cut and then style hair for all the participants. All students who participate in the
donation of hair are required to have parental permission. Permission forms may be picked
up at the High School office. Information can also be found at http://pantene.com/enus/experience-main-section2/beautiful-lengths. Help by donating your hair!

Freshman class dues are $45 and should be turned into Mrs. Spath or Miss
Guthrie! A list of all unpaid class dues is posted outside Miss Guthrie’s room. Please see
this list to see if your name is on it. If ALL of the people listed pay their dues, the freshmen
class will make an additional $1,575. Please bring your $45 to either Miss Guthrie or Mrs.
Spath ASAP! These dues are VERY important and will help with your Junior Prom and
Senior trip.
Sophomore class dues are $45 this year. Please turn dues into Mrs. Kamprath
or Mrs. Obert.

There is a sheet outside Mrs. Frese’s room with everyone’s name that has not
paid their dues. Reminder: You must have all dues paid to attend prom!
Sports
All Athletes must be in school by 8:45 on game day to participate unless you
have prior approval of the Athletic Director or Principal
It is the goal of Central Schools to make extra-curricular events a safe and positive environment for everyone
that attends. In order to maintain a safe environment, students in grades K-8 shall remain seated with their
parents/guardians or in the designated student section. K-8 students who attend an event are expected to
watch the event. Bringing balls to the athletic facilities is prohibited. Animals are not allowed, with the
exception of service animals. Thank you for your cooperation.
Baseball: JV home vs. Rushville at 4:30pm. Varsity will play Canton MO
6:00pm following JV game. Good luck!!
Softball: NO practice today, reminder only 1 varsity game tomorrow!
TRACK: Meet at Quincy 4:00pm bus time is 2:30pm. Good luck!!
VOLLEYBALL: There will be a short, mandatory volleyball meeting for next school year on
Monday, May 9th at 8:00 in the auditorium!

When: Saturday May 21, 2016
Time: Registration at 6:30 and Trivia at 7:00pm
Where: Camp Point Village Vineyard
Cost: $10 per person with teams consisting of minimum of 5 people and maximum
of 10 people
Food & Drink will be available for purchase from the Village Vineyard.
The Task Force will be hosting a Dessert Auction and a 50/50 raffle along with the
Music Trivia.
