Overall job purpose
Leading a team of content specialists to develop and execute the content
strategy in support of the broader organisational goals across all channels
including core website, blog and social and off site content provision.
Key accountabilities












Essential requirements 

Overseeing the development of all content, ensuring editorial quality,
creativity and relevance to target users. Develop content design and
solutions which meet proposition requirements around what customers
need to know and do.
Taking responsibility for the organisation’s content processes, including
content briefs and schedules, workflow, procedures for working with
other teams and external parties, best practice guidelines and
scheduling of content reviews.
Ensuring the Service’s approach to content reflects industry best
practice and maximises opportunities presented by digital innovation.
Acting as the product owner in developing the core website, social
media and blog content, and to optimise content utility and user
engagement against primary KPIs, using analytics and insight to
implement testing and resulting actions in support of those goals.
Developing and structuring the digital content team so it can effectively
maintain and optimise core content while fulfilling offsite content
requirements, for example partnerships content, to a high standard,
providing inspiring leadership.
Promoting the organisation’s brand tone of voice and related guidance
for writers.
Crafting compelling copy that conveys helpful, topical information in a
tone of voice that resonates with our target users, to encourage
engagement, click-through and behaviour change.
Working with teams across the organisation to ensure all content
contributes to the quality and effectiveness of the user journey, and is
consistent in terms of tone of voice, messages and brand values.
Ensuring all content is fully optimised for search, in line with the
organisation’s SEO strategy.
Supporting the optimisation of customer journeys
Working effectively in cross-functional and project teams.
When required and appropriate commissioning and managing the work
of freelance writers and agencies, ensuring quality and value for money.
Significant experience of developing and delivering multi-channel
content strategies while managing broad publishing functions and
developing teams of content specialists.
Experience of social media strategy and search engine optimisation
(SEO).
Strong leadership skills and committed to effective team development
and delivery of objectives
Highly skilled digital writer and editor, with in-depth understanding of the
principles of writing for web audiences. Ability to communicate complex
products, services and features, in a simple, intuitive and engaging

Good knowledge of financial topics as they affect consumers and
alertness to broader issues in the media that might have financial
implications for consumers.
Leveraging market data to develop content themes / topics and
executing a plan to develop the assets that support a point of view and
educate customers.
Skilled at both long-form content creation and real-time content creation
and distribution strategies and tactics; intuitively understanding what the
audience needs to know and how they want to consume it.
