WITHROW PARK BALL HOCKEY LEAGUE

WITHROW PARK BALL HOCKEY LEAGUE
2014 PLAYOFF FORMAT
Novice, Atom, PeeWee & Junior Divisions
For the Novice, Atom and PeeWee Divisions (8 teams in each division), at the
conclusion of the regular season each division will be split into two halves for a mini
round-robin. The one half will consist of 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th and the other half will
consist of 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th.
Each team will play every other team in its “half” once. Tie games will be allowed;
there will be no overtime in the playoff round-robin games. Hence each team will get
3 playoff games. At the conclusion of the playoffs the top team from each half will
advance to a single championship game. This game will be preceded by a
consolation final played between the second place teams from each half of the
playoffs.
In the Junior Division, the playoffs will be a round-robin where each team plays
every other team once. Ties will be allowed. The standings at the conclusion of the
round-robin will determine who plays for the championship. The 1st and 2nd place
teams, based on the round-robin, will play each other for the championship. This
game will be preceded by a consolation final between 3rd and 4th place teams, based
on the round-robin.
As you can see, the playoffs will end the season for four teams in Tyke, Novice,
Atom and PeeWee prior to the championship final season game. All four Junior
teams will compete on their final game day.
Standings in the playoffs will be determined by the following criteria:
1. Points (2 for a win, 1 for a tie)
2. Wins
3. Inter-team playoff game
4. GA from the PLAYOFFS
5. Final Win Percentage at the conclusion of the REGULAR Season
The below guidelines apply to Championship Games Only
1. In the event of a tie, a 10-minute sudden death overtime period will be played.
2. If the overtime period does not produce a goal, we will move to a five person
shoot-out (five shooters per team selected by each coach before shoot-outs
begin).
3. If the five person shootout ends in a tie we will move to a one-to-one shootout with new players who were not part of the five person shoot-out
GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING
EVERYONE AT THE BBQ ON CHAMPIONSHIP DAY.
